I'd be 100% on board with this if Iggy would agree to wear a big ginger moustache for the remainder of his contract.

If Iginla is traded to the Flames that would be fine. If Iginla is not traded to the Flames that would also be fine. I will only get upset if he gets traded to the Oilers.

Why would you be upset?
He would be going there because he wanted to- because he chose to.

Why would he be upset the greatest player in franchise history ends up on our most hated rival?
Is that a serious question?

If Iginla deserves one thing, it to choose where he plays out his career.
If he chooses the Oilers, so be it.

Yes. Please do it!
I'm all for more entertainment. Bringing Iggy back would certainly increase the entertainment and could make for a wild emotional ride.

You don't come on a Flames fan forum and ask someone why they'd find that upsetting.
Seeing Iginla in a Oilers jersey is detestable and you are being completely obtuse asking someone here why they'd find that objectionable.

If Iginla ever put on an Oilers jersey he would go from my favourite player of all time to just another player who happened to play for the Flames.

I think Iggy scoring on a one-timer from above the right-hand face off circle on a dish from Johnny in the playoffs would be hockey nirvana for me. Give a chance to cheer for that Treliving!

?? Are you implying that Iginla would not respect Giordano as team captain?
If so, I think you underestimate both players.

I love iggy. How does he improve the team though? He would replace brouwer or chiasson on the 3rd or 4th line.
I think getting a skill with speed guy, heck someone like hudler to add more skill to the top line is the move to make, if any.

That probably was worded poorly then. I'm saying I'm prepared for it, and we all should be. It is more likely Iginla becomes an Oiler than a Flame. But that's not the same as being upset by it.
Chiarelli tried to trade for him, then signed him as a UFA. It wouldn't surprise me to see him go after Iginla again. And if you think Iginla won't waive his NMC to go there, I think you're wrong.
And at the end of the day, Iginla is long past being a Flame, and has earned the right to make that choice.
And from a non partisan perspective, would make for great drama should the Flames and Oilers meet in the playoffs.

There was nothing wrong with the wording. You genuinely seemed bewildered at the idea a Flames fan would take issue with it.
As for the rest, all conjecture on your part. You have no idea as to where he goes or the probability of any of that. No one needs to be prepared for anything because you've convinced yourself of something.
From the perspective of a Flames fan (on a Flames forum) it's a putrid thought, and as I said, it was completely obtuse on your part to just casually throw that out there like no one here should see any issue with it.

Hey, thanks for stopping in and bestowing us with your wisdom. From proclaiming it would be "stupid" for Treliving to consider it to informing everyone to the true likeliness of where he ends up and finally - how everyone here should feel about it.
It's always great to get informed, insider takes.
