Talk has been the Kings are a possibility but they're not even a lock to make the playoffs right now so that could be a risky choice. He may only have a couple teams to choose from that are in fringe playoff position. I think he'd rather be on a playoff team than run out what might be his final year on the Avs.
I don't think it would be a case of teams can't make the deal. The Avs will do whatever they can to make sure he can go to a serious contender. The cost won't be prohibative
On the other hand you have a point about weather teams would want him or more importantly a place for him. Do teams want to mess with chemistry just make him a spot in the lineup.
It's like wanting to get back with an ex you were with for years. Yes the fore play and sex was great but the underlying issues why it didn't work the first time never is really resolved and the relationship will only end in heart break again.

Not gonna lie I get all warm and fuzzy inside thinking about Gaudreau feeding Iggy for a one timer. Ya it may not be the greatest hockey move but having Iggy on this team would make me smile every game and would be a great way to send him off to retirement. Your first favorite player as a kid always has a special place in your heart, the 9 year old in me says hell yes. Iggy has lost a step, probably even several steps the last 2-3 years but he still is around the level of many of our 3rd and 4th liners. The nostalgic factor and his leadership ability makes me say yes. I ####ing love Iggy

Iggy fought too many battle to become a turncoat. Just not in his nature to #### on the Flames like that. No way he goes to Edmonton
I'd like to think that but knowing he was in discussions with Vancouver before he signed with Colorado makes me a little unsure. Especially seeing as he's from St. Albert.

And was an Oiler fan growing up.
Who wouldn't want to play for the team they grew up cheering for.

In thee posts in this thread you've likened him to an ex-girlfriend, said outright he'll retire with no cup and now that he wants to play for Edmonton.
Excellent contributions.
Done yet or anything else riveting to add?

It is funny because the while been there, done that idea is from when he was the go to guy. Fact is he fit in as not the man in, say, Boston.
If a guy knows his role and brings what he can bring (and I have watched him this year and have a realistic view on his upside and limitations) then the been there, done that goes in the round bin.
Regardless, his skills have deteriorated to the point where he is a third liner at best, a slow third liner at that. We don't need a third liner, we have a plethora of guys that can play on the third line. What we need is someone to play with Gaudreau and Monahan and keep the likes of Brouwer on the third line and Chiasson on the fourth.
Is this a serious question?
Come-on.. NO..
He deserves a Cup. Jerome did his time here and it's done.
......unless Wideman goes the other way...then maybe.

I don't think anyone denies that, but going out and acquiring a 1st line RW is both very unlikely and not at all the same thing as potentially bringing in Iginla to play bottom six minutes / the power play to end this year.
