If you need a bigger ladder than Dion's you can rent them as well.

I've tried that. Ended up with multiple soccer balls in a tree. Solid plan.
I feel dumb asking this but doesn't your second story have windows? Why can't you climb out of one onto the roof? Right, roof of the house. Gotcha.
But what do I know. I'm just a man that threw a bunch of soccer balls into a tree.

Can you go out a 2nd floor window onto the roof of the garage? Then use a regular 8 foot ladder to get onto the higher roof?

Is this actually a thing?
People can't get things down from their roof?

Buy a ladder. If you have a house, you should have a ladder. You'll have to clean the gutters sometime and there are a million other reasons why you need a ladder.

Send them to Military School. They'll forget about the Drone soon enough.
I usually use a long piece of rope. I bunch it up and throw it into the tree or whatever and try to coax things down from high places that way.

I'm in Coventry Hills. I think a 13 foot ladder would get me about even with the living room windows on the main floor and still a good 15-20 feet short of the roof line, unfortunately.

That makes sense and I've wanted an excuse to buy a good long ladder for quite a while. Problem is the back yard is quite low and the roof on the second storey is quite high. It would take a really long (read: expensive) ladder to get all the way up there. I'm also quite clumsy so there's a good chance I would fall off said really long and expensive ladder and either hurt myself, wreck some property, or both.

Can you get on the roof at all. I know at my place I can get out of a window onto the garage and walk around to get to the roof. I didn't even think about it until the roofers were redoing my roof and walked on a section above my front entry which connected to a slope that lead to the roof up top. He mentioned that typically they design it so it is easier to get around. Blew my mind and has made Christmas lights a lot easier. That being said maybe it was just something they kept in mind for older houses (1990s).

That's a good suggestion. I'm a little hesitant of that option just because of the slope of the two roofs and my inherent clumsiness. Will research options for securing the ladder on a pitched roof.

Send your kid out then. They tend to bounce a bit better at their age.
