Love the snake! I'm curious though how was the 96 points set? Is that the guaranteed playoff point total based on Western Conference history? Just asking because 96 points seems high this season with the west struggling. The Flames are firmly in a playoff spot right now and are on pace for 90 points.

No Western Conference team has earned 96 points and missed the playoffs. Yes, some years you won't need 96 points to make it (likely this year) but the point of the snek is that getting to 96 points historically is a 100% guaranteed playoff slot.

We haven't taken enough games to overtime this year...and lost too many in regulation. the loser point makes such a difference in the standings.
Is that true or do we win to many of our overtime games and therefore have less loser points. I believe our overtime/SO record is well over 50% so we are the benefit of the winner points rather than us failing to take advantage of loser points

This is correct. So far, the team has 9 wins in 13 OT/SO games.

Sorry for the delay. I just finished the game on the PVR. With another win the red snake continues its rise towards 96 points. It is 4.585 points below the black line, and only two points below the green snake. It has left the easy purple snake behind, and has gone 12 points ahead of it. It has its sights firmly set on overtaking the hotter, green snake. A 14-6-0 record in the final 20 regular season game will give the red snake 96 points. That's a 1.40 PPG pace.

Snake at the start of the season:
Flames inconsistent at stretches from looking really good, to really bad:
It is almost like the Flames were climbing up the wrong tree, and decided to just launch themselves off to get to another tree.
Maybe the Flames had to digest a new system, digest the "Wideman effect" and deal with it, etc. Seems like they have done that. Now the snake can climb a bit easier.
