^ I started watching this clip but simply just couldn't make it through.

The Heat play-by-play guy has two gears:

Gear 1: Unassuming, average joe
Gear 2: GILBERT GOTTFRIED BEING EATEN ALIVE BY A BEAR!!!!!!!!!!

I can't handle it.

So close to a PPG, yet so far.

If they did, that is a reason for concern, as I would figure the prospect base is indeed much better than it was back then. Again, the division may be tougher, or there is more focus or priority in a different spot organizationally than just the win/loss record - but I would point out that it indeed MAY be an area of concern if this team is worse than that one.
That 2010 Heat team you're referring had the following players:

28 YO W Jason Jaffray (0.75 PPG)
27 YO W Colin Stuart (0.537 PPG)
26 YO W David Van Der Gulik (0.625 PPG)
25 YO D Stefan Kronwal (0.636 PPG)

I think it's inaccurate to say they didn't rely on established AHL vets. This year's team's only >25 major contributor was Derek Grant, and he was 25 and missed half the season either to call-up or injury. Outside of Grant they got a handful of games from Mason Raymond and Aaron Johnson. The best "old player" they had was probably Jakub Nakladal, who was playing in North American for the first time and had a learning curve - the opposite of an AHL vet. And Nakladal was often paired with an 18 year old.

Additionally, the systems the Flames organization ran at that time were way less high-risk, so the goaltending stats from this year can't be directly compared to that year. This year a .905 might be a good performance, that year a .905 might be a sieve letting in terrible goals.

Stockton down 5-0 in the 3rd.

Not a good game to end the season.
