Or.... get rid of Tim and Sid and put Jay and Dan in that slot.
Or, even better... put them on TSN head to head with Tim and Sid.

I don't think Jay and Dan's schtik can carry a full TV show. They were good for sportscenter but I wouldn't see myself tuning in to watch them daily.

I think the two are a package. I can't see either of them being as entertaining on their own. I hope TSN brings them both back.

TSN can afford them both so if they want to come back as a pair then they'll be back. TSN has the money for the talent now that they don't have to pay so much for the NHL rights.
TSN sportscentre is still highly popular and the best of any station
But if I lived in Cali for that long I don't think I'd want to come back either especially if I can find another job doing what I love.

Unless they have advanced backgrounds in audio/visual production and are well versed in broadcasting quality HD feeds, I fear there isn't much they can do to help.

Question, what does a sports network do without a flagship nightly news broadcast? Are they cancelling the station entirely, or are they just not going to have a highlight show?

FS1 has gone the route of employing a bunch of 'pundit' shows where their hosts say controversial things from the sidelines to troll players, teams, sports personalities in an effort to illicit a reaction and thus generate ratings. Hence the Skip Bayless hiring. Basically the cable sports version of click bait.

Which I think is the way sports television is going.
Does anyone watch sportscenter anymore? I'll record that's hockey 2 night if I want to watch highlights if I miss the game I wanted to watch otherwise I don't bother. None of my friends bother with sportscenter anymore. Not with the internet and twitter and such.

It is where it's going. That said sports and all programming for that matter is moving off of conventional television entirely. The people who still have cable these days (those aged 35 and up) are the kind of people who probably would still watch sports highlight shows. The problem for FS1 is that their potential market is shrinking and the natural evolution is consolidation, not adding another channel to compete with ESPN with which is what they did with FS1. 2-3 years from now there will only be ESPN, and ten years from now there likely won't be cable TV as we know it in any form.

Agree completely. It's sad and lowest common denominator stuff. But it draws ratings so you can't complain too much since that is what the market is demanding.
Weird how there isn't anything any close to real sports analysis across 10+ channels and 24 hours of tv airwaves. Just a lot of fluff.
