So Stockton. How much do u love your new minor league hockey team? I think it's gonna be a really exciting year for this team. Such a great mix of young guys pushing to make the big club with just the right amount of AHL vets to mentor the kids along.

Just finished the first period. What a turkey shoot.

Stockton was all over the Ice Hogs.

The first goal was a great feed by Elson to Grant for a tap in. The next two were the same goal with Nakladal ripping one from the point with Arnold and Granlund tipping them in. The 4th one was Kylington just walking in and ripping it past the goalie, great instincts.

The few times Rockford directed shots on net, Gillies was there and made it look easy.

I'm a bit surprised/confused. No Hathaway? Hunter Smith instead?

a 7-0 win is always great, but it's even more impressive when you look at that Rockford team. Three first rounders in McNeill, Dano and Hartman, plus Pokka, Morin, Haggerty, Hinostroza and Gustafsson and veterans like Leighton and Paille. Not exactly a bad team.

Fantastic result and great to see that attendance

That wasn't Darnell Nurse, he never played in the preseason for the Condors. The guy that fought Smith was Kale Kessy and yes that is all Kessy is good for, he is part of the reason Stockton signed Colton Orr

it's even funnier when you know that the Oilers gave up Tobias Rieder to get Kessy. No good.

yup. Their best draft pick in the later rounds for many many years and they trade him for a minor league goon. Oilers gonna oil.

Once Smith improves his balance and strength he will be better in that aspect. Right now he is just lanky and tall.

Agostino had a really good game, made a great pass to Spoon who fed it across to Shore for the 5th goal.

The 6th one was a crash the net style goal.

The 7th by Hamilton was a strange deflection that hit someone on the Hogs in front of the net and fluttered over the shoulder of Carruth.

Gillies only had to make two tough saves. Any goalie could have stopped the rest.

Seeing Gillies in action on TV, man is he huge. He makes Hiller look small in net and Hiller takes up a large portion of the net. I am interested to see him being tested more though because it is difficult to gauge off one game where he wasn't tested.

It looked like the Flames were playing the Calgary Royals. Completely outclassed all night. It's bad when 7-0 is actually not nearly as bad as it could have been. 4-5 breakaways that were missed, about 10 2 on 1's. Complete garbage defense by Rockford. More puck luck and it could have been 12/13-0

For me, the best players were

Nakladal, Kylington on D
Arnold, Granlund, Agostino, and Poirier at times up front.

Shore and Smith were fighting it all game. Shore had so many chances that he flubbed.

We used average nearly 7000 for the first 5 years. Bad hockey took care of that.
