Duarte with a great homage to Tanev. Blocking shots like a madman! Hell of a shift!

Ben Jones has been great tonight. Some good offensive plays and some big hits.
Wranglers to the PP now late in the 2nd.

Solovyov is injured, as is Brady Lyle.

After a fire drill in the Wranglers end, Klapka chased down the puck at the other end and snuck one past Prosvetov that’d he’d definitely want back. 2-0!

Bad luck for the Eagles player and their stick explodes giving the puck to Sutter for an easy empty netter. 3-1.
First star Dansk definitely. Stole this one.

Through two games:
Polished defensively
Better at transition defense than zone defense, once the opponent is settled into the cycle, he gets very passive (think Kylington, a lot of his defensive mannerisms really make me think of OK)
Very physical, he’ll hit anything that moves
Hasn’t flashed any offense at all, pretty much just a pucks in deep, slappers from the point type.

Poirier looked like he'd been off for three months. His pace was off and some passes were off the mark. He did improve as the game went on. As the game progressed there were flashes of his creativity and vision. I was trying to get a sense of his stick handling and shot to see if the injury has an ongoing effect, but it was hard to tell. I think he was the most skilled player on the Wranglers last year. What that turns into in the NHL remains to be seen. His upside is really exciting.
I really liked the game of Grushnikov. No offence, but reliable defensively. The fact the coach put him out for the final 40 seconds of a one goal game with another shut down D-man rather than his usual partner (Pysk) tells me a lot about how he is viewed. He is a great skater. He's very physically engaged and effective.
If you put Poirier and Grushnikov together you'd have the perfect D-man.

Did you know the Roadrunners have a great record when they score first, when they lead after one, and when Milos Kelemen scores?
Because the PBP sure does.

Stromgren development seems to be coming along very nicely. The faith and patience from Cull making sure he was out there during crucial moments of the game is paying off now. Seems like something clicked recently, and the points are starting to roll in.

What are people's current thoughts on Klapka? Can he grow his game beyond the tweener level? Too soon to tell?

A goal and three assists and not a game star, let alone the first star? Tough crowd.

Strömgren's progression in Year 1 in North America kinda reminds me of Klapka. Second-half Klapka was awesome last season.
