Icon33 UPD: NHL announces Scott WILL captain the Pacific team

Chris Johnston @reporterchris
The #habs sent John Scott to AHL St. John's and aren't likely to recall him. That would make him ineligible for the NHL all-star game.

Dave Vest @davest4yotes
Don Maloney says he expects the NHL will invite another #Coyotes player to participate in the All-Star Game in John Scott's place.

Sigh... the uproar from this is not going to be worth keeping Scott out of the game.

That is really lame.

Probably the only people who gave a crap about the all star game was John Scott and his friends and family.

Who is it going to hurt to have him there?

Lame sauce is all I will say. It would have been fun to have him there.

Since he's not going, it should be OEL.

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic. But if there was any push back from fans, how would they argue that Scott deserves to be there? Cause a bunch of morons voted for him to be there?

Glad this is coming to a head finally.

Wow. Super lame.

The All-Star game can go take a flying leap.

The whole thing is a sideshow and they're worried about a sideshow? Weak sauce.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
John Scott was previously asked by both NHL and Arizona Coyotes to bow out of NHL All-Star Game. He refused. Trade likely takes care of that

This doesn't really surprise me.

The trade to Montreal
Twins due to be born the same weekend as the all star game
Getting sent down to the AHL
The NHL trying to find a way to not allow him to go

Something had to give. Hopefully Johnny gets the nod as the Pacific captain!

Thats even worse. Seriously? Is John Scott going to the All-Star game such a travesty that the league has to actively work against him?

If you dont like it then dont give fans a vote. Period. If you're going to let fans vote then you have to honour the damned vote regardless of how ridiculous it is.

They made their bed, they should have to sleep in it.

Who really cares?
