New Big Boi album came out. It's ok. He's got a couple good tracks on there but maaaannn do I wish he and Andre would get back for an Outkast album.

Also, if there are any Curren$y fans on here, he recently released all 3 Pilot Talk albums on all downloadable and streaming services which is great as they were basically off the net for the past few years other than youtube.

I hear it all the time, LB ain't on the same ####
So innovative y'all the the next best thing since
Whatever, I just laugh with it
Cause today's fan is tomorrow's rap critic
One day they giving you the thumbs up the next
They telling 9^th to go on switch his drums up the best
Is what they expect, but why they won't let the music
Just be what it is is anybody's guess, so ah
If y'all feeling this y'all ain't gotta analyze it
This #### is dope and we ain't changin' up
Makin' money and our parents ain't ashamed of us
And when I think about that I can't complain as much so let it rock

Phonte himself, from one of my favorite LB songs

What do people think of 4:44? I think it's the best overall album Jay has done since American Gangster.

And yet artists are complaining that they want to paid for their work...no one is going to hear it on there!

Apparently it's coming out on other music services within a week or two. My brother had gotten a copy and sent it to me. It's definitely one of his better albums compared to what he's put out over the past few years. No ID does all the beats so it has nice consistency throughout. The lyrics and song concepts are pretty strong as well. He talks about his marriage, growing older, etc. It's pretty interesting to hear "grown man" rap that doesn't come off as preachy.

Another album that came out on the same day as 4:44 is MC Eiht's "Which Way Iz West". It's exec produced by DJ Premier and is pretty decent, especially if you like west coast gangsta rap.

^ I would say "OK" is an apt description. I just can't get into it. Also the constant "jeah" gets irritating pretty fast (yes, I know that's not new!)

I think I am biased though and just like East coast stuff better in general I think.

Halfway through I like the MC Eiht album so far. A lot of the tracks don't really sound "west coast" to me production wise. It's pretty much what you'd expect when an East Coast icon tries to make a west coast record. There's clear influences from both and it sounds pretty good.

Jay-Z's always been one of the most highly overrated rappers alive. Sure he can come up with some good stuff, but do you just want to hear somewhat creative lyrics or do you want the full production value with music? His hits have been good that way, but his non-hits have been disjointed songs with no production flow. I'm not into poetry, I want the full package and Jay-Z doesn't give me that.
