Well, the Flames getting swept doesn't hurt quite as much know knowing it happened to a Stanley Cup favorite

This. There is disappointment in this city but it's got to be quite a bit worse in Chicago.

The jig is up, he's been figured out.

God damn I wish we could have gotten to play them instead of Anaheim. Hawks were ripe for the taking.

So goes my playoff pool bet... Who would have thought??? I can just see it like it was yesterday - McLean, Friedman, Hrudey and McKenzie all predicting a Washington - Chicago final with their smug "we know it all" looks... Reminds me one more time, nobody can predict s...t in playoff hockey.

With Rinne in net for the Flames, I think the Flames might have swept the Ducks.

With Elliott in net for the Flames, I think the Hawks would have scored a touchdown every night.

No, you see, this playoffs was a success for them. They had a motto going into it that was on all their promotional material.

Not only did they get their one goal, they got three! That's a success by any measure!

Makes me feel like 1-3% better about the Flames.

Not much.

But something.

Football analogy... the cup win in '14 didn't help ease the sting of the Stamps losing the cup in '16...

I AM STUNNED!

However, I have seen this before...hot goalie sweeps 'Hawks...in 1993 it was CuJo and the Blues with 2 SO of a 1st place in Campbell 'Hawks...

In 1991 it was a tormented North Stars that found a way to put out a President's Cup Blackhawks in round 1.

A tip of the cap to Rinne, and his outrageous 0.970 save percentage, and the Preds shot blocking and passing lane clogging.
