Default Wonder Woman is great

For anyone on the fence, it was terrific. She's a total badass.

Not super spoilery, but the only thing I wish they did was

Spoiler!

But yeah finally DC gets one right! Gal Gadot was just perfect as Wonder Woman. That No Man's Land scene sent chills down my spine. Great movie.

I read some commentary how this is the gold standard now for girl hero movies and how they knocked it out of the park etc etc.

Did all those critics miss Rey in The Force Awakens? Not sure it gets more badass than that.

You should definitely give WW a watch. Her ass-kickery is worlds higher than Rey. WW's smirk every time she's about to enter a fight... such smug satisfaction lol.

That's a bit unfair considering Rey is a student and WW is already a master.

Let's wait to compare who's more badass until after Rey becomes a Jedi.

My wife and I watched Wonder Woman over the weekend and enjoyed it. My wife has similar movie tastes as a 13 year old boy so I go to these superhero movies in the summer with her and in return, she accompanies me to more artsy and/or foreign and/or prestige pictures in the fall/winter. Wonder Woman was all very familiar -- the fish-out-of-water story, the WWII angle, the motley crew of misfits who join the mission -- and I never felt Wonder Woman was in any sort of peril at any point, so there is a real lack of tension in this film. I think I enjoyed it mostly because Gal Gadot (Chris Pine for my wife) was nice to look at for 2+ hours.

A couple of other things I liked -- the overlapping dialogue in crowd scenes, more judicial use of the movie score (compared to other superhero movies) to elicit emotion, the scene near the end where it doubles back to an earlier scene when Wonder Woman temporarily loses her hearing because of an explosion. Speaking of explosions, there were lots of them, so many to the point of distraction.

The chemistry described in this movie was ridiculous. It was an ok movie otherwise but I felt it was not on the level of a great cinematic achievement. 7/10.

I enjoyed it, a good mix of action and romance. It made my 8 year old daughter fall in love with Chris Pine... LOL

Not a huge fan of Gadot's work on this, unless it was intentional for WW to be very naive... almost juvenile, which does seem to make sense given how this seemed to be a story about her "awakening". Her facial expressions were beyond campy. Frankly, I found her effort annoying enough to be distracting from the overall enjoyment of the movie. I could get over how she doesn't really look like the WW from the comics, but the rest was detracting.

Still a solid flick, really great visuals.

Don't bring your 3 year old and expect to see the whole thing. Ha!

Why would anyone bring a 3 year old to any movie?

Wonder Woman was nothing like the previous DCEU films: it was actually fun.

Anyone know how much involvement Zack Snyder had with WW? I know he's not having the best time right now, but maybe they could just, oh, I dunno, not bring him back to the DCEU?

I enjoyed it , no doubt it is DC's best film since Nolan's Batman trilogy. I'd say it was a good movie with some amazing action scenes like the Amazon - German beach battle and when Wonder Woman storms No Man's Land but I do think the reviews are a little overblown.
I have a feeling if Marvel had made this movie rather than DC it would still get good reviews but not to the same hype its getting now. It's no where as good as The Winter Solider for example.
With that said I'd definitely recommend it, its a fun movie to watch in the theater.

I liked it a lot. The first 3/4 of the movie is great. After that it devolves into your typical CGI fest, but that's a minor complaint. Overall it's a very solid flick. Easily the best of the recent DCU movies. It's not quite on the same level as the Marvel films, but I think this movie shows that the folks at DC are finally figuring it out.

It was okay. Good acting, nice CGI. Kind of a pedestrian storyline.
The liberties they took with WW1 history really bugged me, though. So much that it really interfered with me enjoying the film.

I haven't seen it, so maybe I'm talking out my ass.

But, in a universe with a flying alien in spandex, a mystical island with a bunch of warrior women and a merman, you're upset about the liberties they took with WW1?
