Didn't they elect a women in Smith and Redford? Plenty of Conservatives hoped and still hoping that Rona Ambrose from Alberta runs.

I guess we’ll never know with any certainty, but I’d be taking the over.

Oh right, we’re just ignoring a global pandemic and expecting a balanced budget regardless of the circumstances. Be my guest, but that’s hardly condoning the actions of the UCP. I feel the same way federally in that governments in the western world had to spend ridiculous money in light of the uncertainty.

So what was the excuse in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, before Covid was a thing?

Well, you know, like who could have predicted that Biden would nix KXL?

I also don’t support the UCP and have never voted for them. There are plenty of their policies and actions that are indefensible in my eyes.

This is it for me too. They fight with everyone, most of whom they should be supporting. The war on teachers, the war on nurses, the war on rural doctors, the war on educational support staff, the war on provincial parks, the war on fire fighters, the war on EMS, the war on the water shed, the war on fiscal conservatives, the war on media, the war on electricity, the war on pensions, the war on rural policing, the war on municipal government.

What wars am I missing? Probably dozens.

They're not at war with our pristine views. Unless it's an oil derrick.

Would the oil crash of 2014-2018 count as an extenuating circumstance for the NDP? Like expenditures between 2014 and 2015 didn't change at all, it was strictly non-renewable resource revenues and the global oil crash causing revenues to drastically decrease.

they fought a war on outside money affecting the hearts and minds of our population (because that would be unethical) by taking out billboards in outside markets, set up a warroom just for it.

The only real truth is if they are accusing someone of something "bad", they have already done the same but 10x worse.

The amount of meddling this government wants to do is astounding. Focus on taking care of the business already under your control properly first.

They arent very good at that stuff (see healthcare or education as examples) so they have to rage farm about other things.

I'm surprised they haven't thought up any bills regarding GST yet. I mean every time I buy something, I get taxed 5% and it goes straight to TRUDEAU'S BANK ACCOUNT??

That's preposterous! After all these EQUILIZATION PAYMENTS and we still get taxed DAILY by TRUDEAU??

Looch, love your posts haha... but sadly it's likely that some Albertans probably, actually, do think that. The misinformation, lack of proper research, and general hate for Trudeau has these people living in a conservative wonderland of delightful delusion.

I'm pretty sure they have full time staff searching the internet for fights that they can start with Canada, so this will be coming to you soon ~5 weeks.

Legislate that GST is illegal, pass a PST bill to replace the GST, lose the fight in court, affirming that the GST is in fact legal. Then Albertans get a 10% regressive consumption tax. The pay cheque to pay cheque spenders will have less available money, the rich get richer by holding the additional economic activity generated by 5% more money changing hands, for a short period of item and leveraging that into increased capital gains. But you know, we had to have the party of "no" taxes, instead of the evil socialists that were going to raise taxes a couple percentage points on companies making more than $500,000/year profit.

Town of Hinton leaders say provincial red tape is slowing down business and development

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmon...klog-1.7172132

Quote:
Municipal leaders say provincial delays in approving the closures of undeveloped roads are slowing down business and development in a small town west of Edmonton.

Under the Municipal Government Act, smaller communities need permission from the transportation and economic corridors minister to pass a bylaw with a road closure.
Quote:
In a letter sent to the Ministry of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction on behalf of the town's council in January, Nissen said the road closure approval process was "significantly time-consuming," posing challenges for development, subdivision and land sales.

"The current delays in road closure approvals are not only hindering our growth but also negatively impacting our attractiveness to potential investors and developers," he wrote.
The UCP - pro-business champions of red tape reduction and economic efficiency.
