- No videos as I was holding onto kids, but went to the daytime 4-engine runup of the Lancaster in Nanton yesterday. Was a great thing to see it out and running after numerous trips to the museum when it was in pieces.
- Was golfing in Sundre on Friday morning, when a large airline sized plane flanked by 3 fighters headed SE from the NW. They were low enough to pick them out and you could definitely hear the fighters, but still a ways up. Didn't know if this was a military escort for a dignitary, or if it was a plane being escorted due to another type of "issue".

Likely a scurry from Elmendorf AFB (Alaska). Tanker (probably a KC-135 if from ELM) with accompanying aircraft (quite likely F-22's) that need additional fuel for an extended trip. Dignitary's don't get a fighter escort.

I'm assuming chopper, I've noticed it too. Not sure what they are doing, but it was up and about over the weekend also, didn't notice any camera gear on it. Usually when they are low like that they are filming (shots for commercials and stuff like that).

This very thing has been spotted a few times over the years, either heading up to AK or coming back down. Every single time I've missed it too!
How do you use flightaware for times i saw a small plane at a really high altitude this morning and i want to know what it is.
It depends, programs like Flightaware and Flightradar24 usually only show IFR traffic (Instrument Flight Rules). Flightaware to my knowledge only shows aircraft that have filed flight plans.
Flightradar24 is a little different, and sometimes does show traffic not on a flight plan.
Nothing spectacular here, but driving through Northern Ontario, it was different to be able to see about 7 vapour trails overhead, and 3 flights traveling in what looks like a single file line heading west.

Living on the Atlantic coast this boggled my mind.
I understand what you're saying, but I see that almost every time I look up.
Thanks to programs like FlightRadar24 I'm getting good at determining what is overhead.

Antonov124 (VDA1081 from Japan) enroute to YYC right now and about 2.5 hours out, in case anyone is looking for something to spot. I have no idea how long they will stay this time.
