Friars unbeaten streak ends in the first game after the Christmas break.

Lose 2-1 in OT to Cornell in the Florida College Hockey Classic.

No points for Jankowski or Gilmour.

Jankowski got hit by a blindside hit from Alex Tuch today.

Video here:

Jankowski did return to the game. 5 min major for Tuch.

Score is 0-0 after the first.

Looked like Tuch ran another player from behind before clobbering Jankowski

That was a really dirty hit. And really stupid. Not too sure what that kid was thinking. I don't follow NCAA hockey (except the stats). Do they suspend players for hits like this?

That was ridiculous. It had no connection to the game at all. It that doesn't warrant a suspension I don't know what would.

Providence lost for the 2nd time this season with a 4-3 OT loss to Brown.

Jankowski
0pts -2 7 for 20 on the dot
Looks like Jankowski is in a slump, no points in 3 games since coming back from Christmas break

Gilmour
+1 0pts

I asked @BHickey14 point blank, on and off the record, and he 100% told me he's staying with @TerrierHockey

I don't blame him. Both Calgary and Stockton have a loaded blueline right now. Although I'm sure the organization would ensure his minutes are a priority

Are there any rules about how late a player can join a CHL team and still be allowed to participate in the playoffs/Memorial Cup?

Would Hickey be able to play out the season at BU, then join the Rebels for the Memorial Cup after signing with the Flames?

But he would be going to the WHL.

For now but he would than probably need to turn pro next season. Staying at BU gives him the option of him staying there another year or two until our defence situation becomes more clear.

Thinking about Hickey losing the NCAA championship last year, and the potential to play in the Memorial Cup this year... has there ever been anyone who has won both Trophies?

It seems almost impossible to do but figure there has to be one or two guys maybe.

I don't know if it would be impossible as a rookie on an NCAA can win the championship as a fourth liner and then go into the CHL. I think I would be more curious to know if there is any player who has played top line in both leagues and has won the championship (for ex. if Gaudreau played in the CHL and won the Memorial Cup as their leading scorer)

Hickey is playing tonight for BU.

BU also announced 2 forwards have joined their program. Replacements for some of the shenanigans mentioned earlier in the thread.

A serendipitous update to my above question.

As I'm settling in to watch the Flames game I get a hotline bling on my telephone. Beloved funny man, profanity loving, dirty joke dealing fotze sent me an answer.

It's been 15 years for someone to ask that obscure question. I thank you. Haha.
With his permission I present the answer, Lorne Howes.

Thank you fotze, please return.

Providence loses 7-3 to BC. First game for Walman since he got injured and first time Providence has trailed more than 2 or lost in regulation

Jankowski breaks a 3 game pointless streak.
1a even 52% 1sog
19gp 8g 11a 19pts

Gilmour
1g 1a -1

It'll be interesting how they will make room for Gilmour, Kanzig and possibly Rafikov and Ollas-Mattsson this offseason. Not a lot room in the AHL for them all to play. Probably will see the Flames move on from some guys.
