I am worried sick about the poor Oilers having another B2B, in their arena, with the only travel being driving to and from the rink, while having to sleep in their own beds. So, if I have this right, 4 B2Bs, two in their home rink, 1 in LA, and one in the NYC area. Have they actually had real travel on a B2B yet? Yup, no favouritism there. And then a break until next Wednesday. Truly admirable work, schedule maker.
I do love this new CP narrative about the schedule. It’s great entertainment. Especially when people can’t even read the schedule right (break till Wednesday!)

So you don't think the Oilers have had a baby-soft schedule this year? Or are you just going to argue a technicality?

Seems about average, which strength of schedule rankings would agree with.
Strength of schedule algorithms were really developed for football, where you only play once a week. They don't account for travel times or games on consecutive days.

The only really interesting to note about the Oilers schedule is there record versus the league's 'top' teams in no good. Which I suppose means they are taking care of business against the bottom feeders, but doesn't bode well for them going forward.
Schedule is the schedule. If you think the league sets it up for one team then I don’t know what to tell you.
That’s exactly what I think. McDavid is the league darling and you better believe they do everything in their power to pander to the Oilers because of it. They want him in the playoffs. If that means giving them every opportunity to be fresh and rested, they are going to do it. Their schedule has been pillowy soft, if you don’t agree with that, then I don’t know what to tell you.
So on sportsnet before the game today they said the Oilers strategy is awesome. That they play rope a dope like Ali and wait till the third to beat you... who are they beating exactly?
Before this on the NHL network they were talking about how unselfish McDavid is in getting his team to the top of the pacific with assists.
It's pathetic the narrative the media runs with this team.
