Maybe they just remembered they were no good.

I don't think I've seen a team squander two attempts to eliminate a team quite like the Canucks did there.

They knew exactly how the oilers would come out too. Like watching a slow car wreck over 48 hours that was completely avoidable.

We all know how bad the Coil can be defensively but the Canucks somehow made them look like those late 90's and 2000's defensive juggernauts that existed. Pathetic display of hockey.

Correct, Silovs saved the Canucks having to worry about signing a back up as well next year. I won't be shocked to see him shipping back and forth between Abbotsford and Vancouver all season to get starts in the AHL while also taking a majority of back-up duty.

Him and Tolopilo just alternating who is sitting on the Canucks bench, with Silovs also getting the starts in the NHL on Demko's nights off (of which I expect there to be more of next year now)

Not sure I agree. They played like a constipated team this round.

Honestly, I thought Silovs played amazing the entire playoffs. All my boys have been saying that losing Demko was a big hit and I'd agree if not for Silovs playing the way he did. I'm not so sure the Canucks style changes with Demko in net over Silovs. Like you noted previously, Tocchet changed their entire style earlier before playoffs, so I don't think the other players "open up" or anything just because he's in. To me, Silovs showed he is ready for prime time. Canucks will undoubtedly go with Demko next season regardless, but if I were the GM, if Silovs shows during his limited outings that his play from these playoffs weren't a fluke, I move Demko and go with Silovs.

I don't think the team played any where near as passively in front of Silovs as they did in front of DeSmith all season, but they were still definitely more passive on the fore check for long stretches in front of Silovs vs Demko.

The thought of moving on from Demko has crossed my mind. But Silovs is still young. He definitely had moments where he looked "young" in these two series. Stuff that should not be going in on an NHL goalie were going in on him still. It didn't factor in to the Canucks losing any games, but it did happen. But at the end of Demko's contract when Silovs is 26, you may definitely be able to make a case to just... let him go. Much as they did with Markstrom.

Canucks are having their media availability right now. No injuries to Hughes or Pettersson suffered during the playoffs. Pettersson has had a bit of a bad knee since Jan, but nothing that requires surgery.

A knee would explain why he was so stiff and rigid.

I didn't think there was any serious injuries to Hughes, just the general targeting star players in the play-offs. Because Hronek turned into a pumpkin, it was very easy teams to just grind on Hughes.

Hronek should have taken a vacation instead of costing himself millions of dollars with terrible play in the playoffs

I still can’t believe the ‘Nucks blew that series after going up 3-2. A minimal effort in game 6 would have probably won them the series. Pulling a complete no-show in back to back games and embarrassing themselves on home ice the way they did is absolutely pathetic. The entire organization should feel great shame.

Why? It's not like he is saying something that is not true.

We want honesty and personality from players, not cliche answers. Yes. it's a shot at our team but its not a false statement so i dont see the issue?

It's not even a shot at our team, it's a simple statement of fact.

I agree, I want honesty and personality, and Zadorov definitely has that.

The Oilers are vastly more popular in Alberta. It's not even close.

Sounds like it was tendonitis in Pettersson's knee.

I'd blame Vegas more than the Canucks. The Canucks are just too no good.
