What the hell was that?!? Luck into an inning ending double play and throw it away to score 2. Can Vladdy and IKF share the error?
And another run scoring error lol.

On the positive, more than two runs. Perhaps they’ve turned a new leaf?

Having offense and a bigger lead earlier, not just 3-1, probably change the dynamics and the bullpen deployment is different for both teams and the Jays likely dont give up the next 8 runs.

Yimi apparently dealing with lower back issues now
Green on the IL
Romano and Swanson started the year on the IL, Swanson is still a complete mess
Something seems off with Mayza
I mean....it's becoming a total disaster here
The 1-2-3 hitters are all around .600 OPS (two of them BELOW that)
It's only May 3rd, they're only 3 games below .500, you don't want to push the panic button but holy crap...

Bo currently has a negative fWAR, he and Vlad are combined negative fWAR
Incredible
Even if they decide to sell they won't F all for these guys, or Springer lol

I disagree. If they were to deal Bo, they'd get a kings ransom. He's the one player almost every team would be in on - either for SS or 2B. This is his first year where he's shown a crack and it's across the full team. Every team would be in on him because his upside is so high, especially for the positions he plays. He's a very valuable guy to have and a few weeks in hasn't changed anything. Vlad, debatable. Springer, probably not much with his back history.

I...I just hate this team.
It really won't move the needle much but they have to fire Schneider. He's lost the room. I don't know if it's stemming from taking Berrios out. But what he's preaching the players aren't buying. They really shouldn't be this bad.

I'm indifferent to Schneider. Montoyo had the same issues. Batting coach should be #1 on my list. #2, Atkins. #3 Schneider. But I think there should be a quick succession to do each. Then with a new GM you start moving players - Bo, Vlad, and the pitchers who have value, to recoup young players. This team isn't good. Said it before the season started, and argued about the nonsense philosophy from the top, and it's come to fruition. That's upper management and numbers guys coming together to push this defence first stuff. Gotta go back to getting hitting first.

Sure but they need a kick in the pants to salvage this season chances and whatever approach he is taking or saying in the clubhouse isn't cutting it.
Sounds like Schneider got fired up tonight post game, after weeks of taking about patience, so the seat must be getting warmer.

I feel like Shatkins just doesn’t understand what Jays fans like. Pitching and defence is great but Jays fans love home runs and high scoring offenses. If the Jays were 13-15 but were top 5 in home runs and runs scored, I think fans wokld be a lot more happier.
No one wants to watch this team lose scoring 2 runs or less every game. This team is terrible to watch. There is nothing entertaining about. I’d rather they lose 10-9 every game.

Jays need to make a trade, find a way to improve the offense. (2 years and counting with that wish)
Crap off season, in terms of addressing anything related to the offense
Pitching is great, however offense is below average

Ugh. Does anyone remember the ten inning Jack Morris game 7 shutout masterpiece when the Twins won the World Series waaaay back? I miss those days when you rode your starter and had epic pitcher’s duels.

I think fans would be fine if they were winning more.

For me it is more about the lost opportunity around a very good pitching staff. Seems like a waste of a few years to not build out this roster around that staff.
As bad as the hitting has been I feel very poor coaching decisions are compounding the issues. Plan and simple, Schneider is not a good manager and doesn't have what it takes to pull this team up. I don't think his decisions help with the players getting comfortable and building confidence.

I have often wondered how long Bichette's back would last with the way he swings. He generates his power from all of the torque he puts his body through. Over the last several games his contact has seemed very weak to me, barely getting the ball to the fielders. Are we seeing a slump or a fast decline or he's not 100%?
Numbers from Chris Black on twitter.
30 games into his 2024 season, by OPS, this is...
the lowest 30-game stretch of Bo Bichette's career (.538)
the lowest 50-game stretch of Bichette's career (.606)
the lowest 100-game stretch of Bichette's career (.692)
the lowest 150-game stretch of Bichette's career (.742)
