I heard something on the radio that Krueger would be strongly considered for the Vegas opening given his ability to take a ragtag group of guys from a bunch of different situations and mould them into a competitive team almost overnight.

I don't know if we'll ever "suck" but it seems like every other country is in a bit of a down cycle at the same time as Canada is at it's peak.

Looking at the NA23 team, the US is going to be right up there with Canada again in a few years. Maybe not in 2 years if they go to the Olympics but 4 years from now I could see it.

The core of the current World Cup team and the past Olympic team was from the generation that dominated at the junior level, where Canada won 5 straight World Junior Championships.

In the 7 years since then, Canada has won the World Juniors once, and has only 1 medal in the past 4 years.

More parity is coming...

Love seeing Canada on top again and Team Europe is a great story but I am having trouble getting excited about watching two more dominating Canada wins.

They should let Europe take a few ringers from Sweden, Russia, Finland and the Czechs to make things even.

Canada vs World.

Now that would be an entertaining final!

Add some Kane, Johnny, Kopitar, Lundqvist, Ovechkin, Malkin, Backstrom, hmmm who else?

First of all, if Team Europe wins it all I hope Krueger takes his day with the Trophy and spends it in Edmonton.

Hell no. I cant believe hes even coaching in this tournament.

Ralph Krueger takes sneezes that generate more revenue than half the NHL.

Canada 35 and Under (in 10 Years)

Hall - McDavid - Seguin
Duchene - O'Reilly - Johansen
Huberdeau - MacKinnon - Stone
Skinner - Monahan - Couturier
Hopkins

Murray - Ekblad
Rielly - Hamilton
Cici - Payako
Dumba

Murray
Domingue
Subban

Definitely not the powerhouse we are now, might need to dust off and bring in old guys like Benn, Couture, Tavares, Stamkos, Doughty, Other Subban, Pietrangelo and Holtby (37 and Under)

It's virtually impossible to predict what the Canadian team will look like 10 years from now, considering people at the low end of the team (24 years old) are 14 right now.

How many of us are tracking 14 year old players? Aside from the "generational talents" like Conor McDavid and Sidney Crosby, probably none?

In 10 years, every current superstar will be on the back nine of their career, but new players will have entered the league as well.

Having a conversation about what the teams will look like in four years more reasonable, but still tricky.

Agreed. For instance, 10 years ago, Dustin Penner was 5th in Calder Trophy voting, and projecting to be a dominant player!

Plus, anyone who projects a future Team Canada without Bennett on the roster and Monahan as the 4th centre needs to turn in his jersey

I like hockey so I've watched the whole thing, but the schedule they have this tourney on really kills momentum. Both semis should have been on Saturday and they should be playing tonight.

I'd be very surprised if it isn't the exact same lineup from Saturday.

Bettman will just tell Canada to throw game two so they can have a showdown game 3.

Canada is too nice not to listen to its American bosses.
