Basically Axe got snookered into a bad deal where he didn't do his due dilligence and bought a company with criminal connections. Prince offered him a couple of billion to F off, and Axe fled for I think Africa using a Swiss passport.
Prince played Chuck, Axe kinda played them all in the end.
I think the hope is that Axe comes back, but I doubt it Lewis had a bad year and him coming back to the states to film isn't likely to happen.

Axe went to Switzerland I believe.
But I am wondering if he's completely axed from the show?

Hi wife died of cancer last year, he wanted to take care of his kids in the UK and he told the show that with Covid and the family situation that he doesn't want to come back to the States. So that's why Axe got Covid so they could film him in the UK for the last few episodes.
He's indicated that he wants to work in the UK for the next few years. They might cameo him maybe advice Chuck over the phone in some vengeance plot against Prince. But it feels like he's not coming back to the States anytime soon.

The legendary Helen McCrory will be missed.

unpopular opinion it seems but I'm actually enjoying the focus on Prince and Wags having to pivot to a new boss.

I like Lewis, but I was getting tired of him in this role, and tired of him and Chuck going around in circles. I don't know if this iteration will work out to be entertaining, but at least it has a chance of doing something fresh.

This was the best episode of the season by far. Great comedy with Wags & Scooter. A little hint of the "Original" years. The only thing I was cringing at was the Bullhorn scene with Rhodes.
It's kind of like a break in process. I hope it gets legs sooner than later ...

This season has really grown on me. It's a bit of bad timing in that the Olympics have lost so much luster. But the character interactions and developments are solid and intriguing. I like the direction with more of a role for Kate, and also Taylor is becoming interesting again.

I am liking the Chuck story a lot now but Prince story line is still to slow. At least there was a pace when Axe was around.
But overall I'm enjoying it.

Am two shows into the current season - not good at all.
Maybe someone can give me a reason to keep watching. Need Wendy to show up in her dominatrix outfit again soon please.
EDIT: In a scene with Piper Perabo.

Watched episode 1 last night; won’t be watching more. With Netflix, Prime and Video on Demand there is much better stuff.

Don’t base everything on the first episode. This season needs a bit of warm up, it definitely gets better.

I can't help but think that Prince's endgame is that he's going to con the Olympics and steal a bunch of money.
Because if its not then Chuck just looks like an enormously hypocritical buzz word using moron, and is the villain.

Last night was a fun episode. I really like the twist with Prince running for POTUS and Chuck going to stop him. I thought it was good.

Yep, it was a slow build but I’m getting into the groove of it again.
They have already been renewed and apparently left it open for Damien to appear/return whenever/ifever he wishes.

I feel the lost character right now is Wendy. Is she going to get back together with Chuck? Is Axe coming back for her?

I’m about halfway thru the season. I’m not exactly sure when Billions turned into Suits 2.0 but here we are. It’s not awful, it’s just not very good. Used to be one of the smartest shows on tv. Now it’s a show that pretends to be smart but obviously isn’t.
