Flames pick is 9th right now.

They’re two points out of 6th.

If they had another 4 points, it would be 15th.

We’re going to lose our second pairing defensive unit pretty soon. And on that unit is our best defensive defenseman. This team is going to be epically bad once that happens. They will not be able to outscore the opposition sufficiently to offset all the goals against.

This problem is going to take care of itself.

And frankly, I think, at least one of our goalies is going to be desperate to get out of here once that starts.

Fair point. Markstrom seemed visibly psychologically upset after that playoff loss to the Oilers. He may not want to move now, but when he has an AHL level defence in front of him, he could change his mind quickly. He does not seem like the type of goalie who can just coast and roll with the punches.

Why wouldn't they leave? Nobody even gets mad at them...we have an embarrassing thread on the main page right now about how awesome Tkachuk is. Yeah I loved it when he lied to us and then ruined the franchise. I get more heat on here for liking current Flames and hating ones that bailed.

I expect the Flames will be big players in free agency. Wouldn’t surprise me if one of Pesce or Skjei ends up here.
