Ah there it is. Thanks. Too bad they dont have OLN in the individual channels section. I have no interest in those other Sports Extra channels.

Yeah, if I watched football more then it would be important for sure.
As a side note, "The Essentials" are pretty funny. Russia Today? Grace TV? Crossroads? Miracle Channel? I didn't realize these were must-see TV.

Actually, I don't care about the girls in this instance - it's got some excellent MMA coverage...

Yeah, we can get that. Honestly though, I thought it was just Bell rebranded. To be quite honest, I would never get anything Bell.
The Optik stuff doesn't look so bad though. Thought maybe some of the alleged Telus employees in this thread had heard stuff about smaller towns, that's all.
Thanks anyways.

ALL ABOARD!

I called Telus to see about switching from Shaw. Here's the rundown of what the they offered me.
I requested: Home phone with Voice Mail and Call Display, Optic High Speed and the basic TV with all the HD channels.
First 6 months: $86
Months 7-12: $113
After 12 months: $146
I was told that I couldn't just get the HD channels and that I would have to pay for all the SD channels to get all the HD channels. That annoys me because I'll never watch them. The only time SD is used at home is for the kids shows (even then I make them watch PBS in HD).
Anyone get a similar package for a better deal?

Do you really need ALL the HD Channels? Pick and choose your packages and you'll probably save some money.

Seems a bit pricey. I get pretty much the same thing from shaw (Extreme, all HD, home phone) for ~$80ish and thats not even that great of a deal.
Considering that $86 price is only for 6 months I would keep shopping, you can do better.
And Im pretty sure no provider can do HD only, everything includes SD cable.

That seems expensive, but I am probably out to lunch on that since I don't remember what the full price I was paying before my current discount w/ Shaw.
Anyone know what regular price is for the similar bundle of services from Shaw?
edit: Just checked on Shaws site. By my guess on what the specifics of your package is, the comparable Shaw one is probably between $139 and $155 a month. I didn't realize how much the home phone was for the fully package.

How many TV's are you hooking up? That affects the monthly rate as well right. $10 per tv for the box rental?

Gave them another call. Just added Sports and Entertainment (AMC). Same packages for TV and phone.
12 Months - $80 per
After $116
That's pretty good. However, I completely forgot that you get no signal unless you have a Telus box. We have two small TVs in the house that don't have a box as they're used sparingly. Now they'll be useless.
I guess I should find out what Shaw can do.

Bah I don't think they offer Orpik in Coventry yet. Can someone tell me why that is? Is there some kind of infrastructure upgrade that needs to happen first?
