My biggest memory was that at age 23 I was a season ticket holder in the 300's for $575 (IIRC). We had the three rows of those 300's only, blue tarp covering the upper part. No line ups for grub or the washrooms, it was great. Then the feeling when the opened up the upper level for the playoffs, I did NOT care about more crowds, it was great to have that noise behind us.

The actual playoffs themselves, if I had to pick one moment it has to be the OT winner vs Detroit in rd 2, it's a very hard moment to beat.

I'll never forget seeing the STH face value of my ticket for gm 6 of the SCF That Martin St Louis goal in 2OT was so heartbreaking, so close to having seen the Stanley Cup lifted at home

robertsfanatic and Flames89 were also there, not sure who else? So much fun, we absolutely took over a few different pubs in T.O.

Booking a table at the Garage in Eau Claire for many a game with our group of friends, ending up on the Red Mile one way or another, sometimes via jumping in the back of some random's pick-up that was shuttling folks to 17th Ave. How long we stayed out depended on whether we won or lost. Then sharing a knowing nod with other people at work the next morning who you knew were out as late as you.

Back in 03-04 it sounds like a lot of us:

- were 20ish
- had no kids, possibly no spouse / SO
- jobs with fewer expectations
- had an abundance of time so that spending 4+ hrs in a bar / at the Dome every other day for 2 months was possible.
- had few financial commitments

I have none of those things now.
We were 37 at the time with wives and children, and had a great time.

My wife and I got married between the WCF end and the start of the Stanley Cup Final Start.

Our wedding was planned well in advance, and as the Flames won the first two rounds, I remember looking at how the potential schedule was going to be made for the WCF. It was obvious that a potential game 7 was either going to be scheduled for the Friday night, or for the Saturday afternoon... which would have been right during our wedding.

Thankfully, that series didn't get scheduled for the game 7 to potentially be Saturday, and it didn't go to game 7 (which would have interfered with our rehearsal dinner)

Prior to the playoff run, I used to share 4 tickets with 5 other guys, so we ended up with 1/3rd of 2 tickets.

They started dropping out, and since I also used them for business, and I had 3 kids, I kept picking up other's shares as they dropped out.

So, I had 4 complete tickets for that season and the playoff run.

In fact, many people didn't renew their playoff tickets, so I was given the chance to get 4 more tickets close to my seats for the playoffs that year.

I was able to keep my family and clients quite happy during what was to become a very memorable run.

On the day of Game 6, I got a call from the Flames asking if I wanted to buy 2 more tickets for that game.

What a run that was.

My former partners who shared tickets wanted back in.... so sad, too bad.

You always hope that will come again.

It's the main reason I want a contender built, not a bubble playoff team.

It was my first ever trip to Calgary after being a fan all my life. I left at 11pm after game 4 and drove through the night from Vancouver. Found a great bar to watch the game and I'll never forget the feeling of being (stupidly) stunned when I was not alone cheering after a Flames goal (it's lonely being a fan in another province).

I had my finger on the eBay button to get tickets for game six but $600 was too rich (and too risky) for me.

I was really bummed after game 7 but I quickly looked at the bright side and had one more awesome night in Calgary.

apparently, Vancouver was in on Kipper, but the Flames got him due to the potentially higher 2nd round pick

What a great interview. Sutter, as always, a gem.

June 3, 2004. Game 5 vs Tampa.

The Shift.
Marcus Nilson was an underrated player, Igina said so a few times, and they had so much chemistry as evidenced here.

Iginla lost his helmet 4 or 5 times during that playoffs, Flames scored three times.

Lowry with a nice double arm grab on St Louis in the corner too.

"The speed of Saprikyn"...say what Bob Cole? Some really generic analysis and not a lot of excitement from him and Neale, considering.

"1 win away from the Stanley Cup and that game is at home"
