^ And earlier, LAFC's goal was from a very dodgy penalty call that wasn't (couldn't be?) reviewed by VAR.
The reffing was so bad, it was difficult to tell whether it was incompetence or a blatant screwjob.
And hilariously, that last goal got called back anyway due to being offside, which was only discovered by VAR. Still one of the worst overall performances I have seen by a referee in quite some time.

I watched the game replay on TSN late last night, and when the ref incident happened, I fell off my couch and was like... THE ####?? How was that NOT immediately whistled down? Ref bumps have absolutely resulted in a stoppage in play for much, much less than that in countless other games. Couldn't believe my eyes. Sartini losing his mind was hilarious.

I imagine Sartini is going to get a well earned suspension to start next season but I don’t really have a problem with his actions in the moment. He’s standing up for his players
His press conference may have crossed a line or two though… games not gone
I don't understand why the ref didn't do a drop ball where he collided with him. Refs have the right to the field, and he was in the right spot, and somewhat unfortunate to have collided with him. (Hindsight, he should have looked where the VAN player was and known to go the other way when the ball was cleared out in his direction).
So Concacaf champions league in the dead of winter...
Looks like the club will consider playing at either Mcmahon or even Commonwealth if the field is unplayable.
Honestly, there's almost no chance I'd be going to Commonwealth or McMahon for that. I'm assuming that this is if the weather is brutal, so the idea of going to this isn't enticing to begin with, but even less where the atmosphere is going to be terrible.

Gross. I'll show up in -20 and not complain. I'll show up at McMahon but it would be terrible in so many ways. Commonwealth? Eff off.
Assuming that the Spruce Meadows facilities have met the minimum standards for Concacaf play (or can be upgraded enough), and the deciding factor will be the pitch, I'm afraid that we're screwed. I can't see how a grass surface in Calgary in February will be playable under any circumstances.
I'd love for El Nino, tarps, and grow lights to prove me wrong.
I know that Hellard won't meet the Concacaf standards for change rooms, etc. but I would even tolerate that as a plan B, way ahead of McMahon.

The Colts locker rooms or the two “new” ones by Hellard might meet the minimum requirements. They’re decent enough. Hellard would be a far better alternative to McMahon but fingers cross Spruce Meadows has a plan and we get our games there

From the conversations we've had with Ian Allison the plan is to host at Spruce Meadows.

Was there any hints as to how they could get the field playable?
They talked a lot about the science of grass. Enough to bore me and have me tune out.
CONCACAF has played games in Denver in February on a grass pitch where it was -15 with a windchill of -25 so there's precedent for playing games in these conditions.
