That’s what he’s saying. It used to be an automatic pre-auth of something like $200, but now you choose.

Went to Vancouver. Had a nice umbrella "London Fog". It was new, it was a gift.

Left it on a bus. :-(

Went to BC Transit lost and found a couple days later. Told them I'd left my black umbrella on the bus.

The dude just stared at me. Then pulled open this cupboard and revealed umbrellas going back as far as the eye could see.

"Go in, and help yourself".

Found it! (probably)

Lol!! Reminds me of 'lost luggage' when I worked at Greyhound.

"Uh yeah...I had a grey suitcase..."

And then some ancient Cryptkeeper looking bastard would take that person to the 'Indiana Jones Warehouse' and tell him to figure it out!!

I have the weirdest jealousy over never having worked at the Greyhound depot. I didn't even consider it...never knew anybody who worked there except you. It just seems like the perfect job for a young dude to see crazy stuff, get crazy work stories, work with crazy people, etc. I totally missed out.

I remember giving you a rough time on this forum, when you were just a young whippersnapper.

Oh dude...it was wild. Easily the most insane job I've ever had.

The kind of people that filter through a Greyhound Depot? You'd never believe it if you didnt see it.

I remember putting my Son onto a Greyhound to go back to Kelowna many years back and he asked if I could show him around the station so I went up to the Code-Door that led to the bus-lanes, punched in my code and off we went.

That code was 14 years old, from my time God knows when it was first implemented, and had never been changed.

Greyhound...oh my God...Greyhound. That was a wild ride.

And the thing is, remember, most of the people working there were lifers. They'd been there for years longer than me and most planned on staying a long time whereas I was just working there to pay for Tuition. I had no plans to be there forever.

Wonderful people...insane people...but the riders/customers? My God man...

I got assaulted, and I mean that in the legal sense...several times, the pranks were outrageous, the sheer workplace lunacy...I've seen more forklift malfeasance than Youtube. You ever see a guy drive over a box of chicks? Baby birds. I have.

I've seen someone skewer a bus. On 3 separate occasions.

And you dont even want to know about driving over a keg of Bull Semen that is frozen with nitroglycerine with a forklift. That can actually blow a forklift over.

Oh! One of my favourites was a guy trying to drive over this tiny little box that I was attempting to load onto my Bus. It was going to Nisku. It knocked the forklift onto its side. Yeah...tiny little box. With a Oilwell Drill-Bit in it. Thing weighed a ton!

But the thing was that the people who could 'bid' on forklift shifts had Union seniority, so they didn't care.

Oh and theres more. So much more. Greyhound...oh that Dirty Dawg. What a job.

Now you play a vital role in keeping this place in good spirits. It wouldn't be the same without you.

And I have stories that I cant even post on a Public Forum. The A&W saga, the drug mule matter, the 9th avenue incident, dealing with the delivery guys, the Christmas depot debacle...my God the Christmas depot...trips to Vancouver and Toronto and Windsor...oh Lord...and so much more. That job was a trip.

And I only worked there for 3 years! And thats just me! My dad worked there for 35 years. The stuff he saw and that happened to him?

Greyhound man...Greyhound. That Filthy Hound. The Dirty Dawg.

I can’t be the only one who thinks that if Locke’s dad was one of the forklift operators in the first part then this is one of the greatest stories ever told.

All that effort, just to raise someone to be a passenger in a helicopter.
