Just checked and my console traveled from California to Kentucky to Minneapolis today. On its way with an ETA for tomorrow so we will see. My extra controller seems to be a few hours behind.
I was going to go to the launch function but I'm thinking of grabbing a couple of games only tomorrow so no real need to line up tonight.
Funny thing though is that I'm not 100% on which games to get.
I was 20th in line at Future Shop Beacon Hill and was told I wouldn't be getting one. They had like 15 to sell tonight. At least they didn't keep us waiting/hoping too long. Damn.
Did you try Northlands FS and BB. Funny that FS website says they're supposed to be at least 20 available for midnight and at least 15 for 8:00 AM opening tomorrow.
I've messed around with mine for an hour or so and played some Killer Instinct...loving everything so far. The Kinect stuff will take some getting used to but you can see that there's some cool potential there. Sleek interface for the most part, and I absolutely adore the controller. Set-up was painless.
I picked up Forza, Dead Rising 3, Zoo Tycoon, and Battlefield 4 with the system tonight (and a controller/play and charge kit, as well as Killer Instinct once I was set up). My Kinect's in an awkward spot right now atop a subwoofer as I'm playing in a small den and don't really have a spot for it. I ordered one of those PDP TV mounts though which will hopefully ship in the coming couple weeks.
Got to Walmart Royal Oak this morning at 5:30 and was first in line with a friend. They only had FOUR consoles to sell. Nice enough to give us a ticket at 6:00 so we could go away for an hour before the store opened. Looks like I'm good however I'm still getting there when it opens.
My Xbox is in Calgary and delivery has been changes from 25th to 22 just like last week woo hoo! FS still hasn't shipped the games though which is just silly but it's their issue as I'll just do buy and returns so FS pays extra in paperwork and customer service charges for my troubles.
Yeah I have 2 more games on pre-order with Future Shop (Watch Dogs and Infamous) and then after that I think I am done ordering the E3 promotion with them.
My E3 order games shipped last night, still won't have them until Monday.
I give Microsoft some of the blame since they set a hard street date on the games. They really didn't want people to get the games or systems prior to launch (banned anybody who got a One early from going on Live, hard street date on games, etc.)
I actually think releasing all the accessories and games early was a great move by Sony marketing wise. Generated even more hype leading up to launch, I know I bought the remote earlier then I likely would have otherwise because I just wanted to see what the DS4 was like.
Ebgames website is showing EVERY single store (16 of them) as having stock of the Day One Edition console. It is the literal release date today though, so perhaps their inventory might be wonky. It usually is fairly decent though.
I'm guessing it will be $500, but with a tiny Vita memory card since a bigger one isn't needed for streaming PS4 games... otherwise whats the point of the bundle. Still would be an amazing deal though.
Sony will get there money back when people upgrade there vita memory cards.
I can't wait! I'm really sad I didn't grab the PS4 controller for $40 a few days ago... still kicking myself for that.
