I hope they try hard tomorrow. Also, I hope the crowd yells "SHOOOOOOOT" every time Gaudreau touches the puck

The Flames matchup up decently against the Ducks, I can see(or hope) they can come back. But in Oder to come our goalie Needs to stand on his head.

My heart is winning the battle against my brain; I believe. They've already shown that they're more than capable by just being in the playoffs after the horrendous start to the season. Hopefully they come out guns blazing again and are able to close out the game tomorrow. Even if they don't win the series, it'll be good for the young guys to stand and fight rather than roll over and die.

Ducks are just a team that doesn't get rattled and when they eventually do battle they will usually win.

Flames just don't have the mental fortitude to win against this ducks team when it matters.
I'm pretty sure the Jets got shutout in a couple of those games and couldn't produce against the Ducks, despite good play.

Flames have scored goals and had leads in these games.

Agreed about the fortitude part though. And even if the skaters find it, Brian Elliott has to also. And I just can't bank on both holding up their ends. But if they can push back and take 2 games, including one in Anaheim, then there will be a lot of moral victories and team progression to take away from this and currently that's what I feel is a realistic goal given how well they are playing them. Cannot think of anything beyond wednesday though. Win one, then carry it forward and build on it.

We have some out right brutal posters on this board now....biggest difference from '04 is that back then all the crap posters were the opposition trolls that signed up every series. Now it's some of our own who have actually been around for a whhile.

watching this and the other series, especially with unlikely 3-0 deficits faced by Chicago, Minny and Columbus has reminded me that NHL playoff hockey is little more than a tragic series of slightly weighted coin flips. with that in mind, make room because I'm getting on board for this historic comeback.

and if in the end we come up short, then just go extra heavy on the booze and porn for a few days, and be recharged for your 2017-18 Flames.

It was hard to believe after witnessing what happened to them last night. I think everyone can agree though that if we have a few bounces or calls go our way this series could easily be 3-0 or 2-1 Calgary. We are not getting dominated like you'd expect to see from a 3-0 series. Keep the focus on one game at a time here. We win one tomorrow night...break the curse in Anaheim...and you better believe the dome will be rocking for game 6 with a little panic in Anaheim's game

The Jets did not play in the playoffs last year, and the Flames have consistently looked like the better team through three games this year.

It is all about momentum. Win tomorrow and head back to Anaheim. You win that game and all bets are off as a win in Anaheim will definitely give this team a confidence it needs to do the unthinkable. Plus I think the Flames are wearing the Ducks down.

He is talking about 2015 when the Jets got swept however had 3rd period leads in 3 if not all 4 of those games

No way, I want another shot at breaking the Honda Center curse this year so it won't be an obstacle next year. That's when I really expect this team to take a step forward.

sorry i meant in the first round 2 years ago.

game 1: jets up 2-1 going into 3rd: LOSE
game2: jets up 1-0 going into 3rd, give up game winner with 20s left to: LOSE
game 3: jets up 4-3 going into 3rd, give up game tying goal with under 5 mins: LOSE
game 4: tied after 1st, but only game where they basically don't go into the last period winning.: LOSE

The ducks core (much of which is still in tact) just don't seem to get phased by teams they have a mental edge on. The flames have yet to score in the 3rd period in the series, so if the game is close, regardless of who's got the lead, the ducks seemingly have the edge on which team will find it within themselves to carve out a victory.

i'll be watching the game, and regardless of my frustration will be cheering/hoping for a win, i just don't think i have seen enough from this team this season or this playoffs to believe they can figure out a way to win.

This team was highly average and mediocre outside of 2 hot streaks in the season when their goaltenders seemingly caught fire. Without that happening here, i don't think the flames ever had much chance to make any real noise this playoffs, let alone winning a frigin game.

Totally agree with this. The Ducks are full of guys who know how to win. There is a big gulf between their mentality and the mentality of the Flames, and its been evident throughout this series.

Acting like the Flames have been the better team just ignores the areas where they are clearly outmatched. They haven't done what it takes to win, and that's the biggest part of it. The Flames have been vastly underestimating the effort and focus they need to actually beat a team that has owned them for so long. The series 3-0 for a reason.

That being said, hopefully the Flames can learn a little bit and prolong the series. At this point I'd be thrilled if they get to game 6 or 7.

I agree with everything in your post except for the last two sentences. The Flames sported a league-wide top-five record through the duration of three quarters of then season, and they had great possession numbers and on special teams to demonstrate that their play was more than just a couple of "hot streaks." Through three games of the playoffs they have not looked like a team that is down by three and has yet to win a game.

In spite of the results this is a very good team. You are right, though: Anaheim clearly has a mental edge that has absolutely flummoxed the Flames to this point. I still think that all it takes is one breakthrough. I thought it would happen last night, but if it does happen tomorrow, then I think the Flames will be able to win Game 5 in Anaheim. If they win that game all bets are off.

When LA came back on the Sharks they had been absolutely dominated during the first 3 games of that series.

So, you could say, it's been done from grimmer positions than the Flames are in now.

Making the historic comeback to win the series is looking too far ahead for me - just win the next 2 games is a more manageable request.
