Great race despite having the winner spoiled(thanks 770) and one of the other podium positions (thanks Cecil!) before I watched last night. Maybe keep the shooey comment out of other threads until the next day!
Anyway, great race for Stroll. He got several legitimate overtakes in. Was frustrating when TSN cut to commercial just as he was coming on Alonso though! A couple points, so hopefully it boosts his confidence a bit.
Overall though lots of excitement. What a fantastic track. Poor Alonso, I thought he had a chance for some points. Would have put them ahead of Sauber which is desperately needed. Ferrari really lost out, I was expecting to see them do much better. Sounds like Palmer's seat is in dire risk to possibly Kubicca.

Would be great if Kubica can make it back. 6 years is a long time to be out of the sport.
I feel badly for Palmer, he has had some terrible luck, but at some point you have to perform. He has been outclassed by Hulk in every measure, might be time for the team to move on.

Just watching FP2. These tires are a joke. They don't have ultrasofts, so the cars are handling like they are on a sheet of ice. Keep in mind this years supersoft are basically like last years soft.
And...red flagged. No one can make that corner before the really narrow section, everyone is hitting the runoff zone.

After Q2 Stroll is 1s off the lead! The lead! He's usually 1s off Massa.
I think this being a power dependent track helps but nice to see he's competing. It has been tricky with grip, shadows and tough sections.

Stroll outqualifies Massa. Starts 8th.
Hamilton now two behind Schumacher for all time pole positions.

3rd place podium finish for Lance! Can't believe that finish
Vettel increases his lead in the driver's standings

Shame about that finish, but 3rd is still fantastic for Stroll. Hopefully he can keep up the momentum.
I'll be at the Hungarian GP next month, and it'll great to be able to cheer for a Canadian again.

I'm on lap 33. #### this is amazing! Stroll about to be in second! Constant action. Cars constantly 3 wide on the main straight. Danny Ric with possibly pass of the year earlier. Hamilton brake checking Vettel like the dbag he is and Seb responding by losing his #### and having a meltdown as he's known to do.

Too bad about that finish but 3rd is nothing to sneeze at. Super proud of our boy Lance.
What a race for a track that everyone has slagged since it was first run.
Good for Danny Ric. I want to see Lance do a shooey!

Wow. What a race...stupid PVR cut out with 2 laps left and TSN app spoiled the final Stroll position. Easily the most entertaining race of the year. Haven't heard yet but did Bottas simply catch Stroll or did Stroll get loose on that last corner?? Either way awesome result for him and Williams.

Really? Not a big fan of Hamilton but it is Vettel's fault he hit him twice. Not only that he's in total denial of hitting him from the side. It's like it never happened to him. He really makes it easy to hate him. His tirades last year were just an example of what kind of an ahole he can. He got off easy yesterday and last year after telling Charlie Whiting to F off. If he wasn't in a Ferrarri he would've gotten more than a slap on the wrist.

Brake Checking the field is a dick move. So much so that it's a thing of the past.

It's weird because the FIA is saying they examined the telemetry and they have evidence that Lewis maintained speed throughout the whole corner and never braked.
This is counter to what Sky showed on their post race coverage and what it looks like to me on TV. Sky showed the onboard from Lewis' car and it clearly showed on their graphic that he fully applied the brakes right at/after the apex of the turn. Even when you just watch it, it sure looks like Lewis slams on the brakes right when he should be accelerating out of the turn.
Vettel needs to learn to calm himself but I also couldn't help but laugh at the Sky commentators who were acting like Vettel had gone rogue and intentionally rammed Lewis' car in a fit of rage. Looked to me like he just lost control of the wheel while he was making hand gestures. Still idiotic. But far from intentional.

That's because to Sky Sports(and ESPNF1) Lewis Hamilton is a god. And how dare you criticize a god.

I disagree. We know harvesting takes place, and I've heard them say when you take your foot off the gas it is like slamming on the brakes. I think Lewis didn't accelerate when Vettel thought he would, but there is no indication he actually braked. I think he is too clever for that.
Fantastic race, good job Stroll! Lots of fun here, though they still need the US tires.
