That's what I said in the other thread: They give up trying to get a goalie, call up Campbell and sign Phil Kessel to try and score their way to success....

Phil 'The Thrill' Will solve all their problems.

Or

"We thought this season was going to be a success, we were going to re-acquire Taylor Hall but he got injured. So really...this is all his fault. Him and that bastard Rieder. Damn him!"

I want to see them get Kessel, Maroon and recall Campbell and get a bump of false belief that they've solved their problems only for it to fall apart all over again.

They have 2 of the best players who have been overplayed for the last 5 years and they are finally slowing down. Their supporting cast is quickly aging as well with Hyman, Nuge, Kane, Ekholm, over 30 years old. Campbell and Nurse both have boat anchor contracts that make it tough to add good talent around them. They have drafted so poorly that there aren’t any young players pushing for spots and proving value on ELC’s.

There is a long standing culture of losing that was built for more than a decade and the best player of a generation hasn’t been able to pull the team out of it and I love it
And they still have to pay James Neal $1.916M for the next 2 years. Between him and Campbell they are paying guys $5.786M not to play for them.

And gave up a 3rd rounder for the privilege.

If we keep posting in here at this rate, we will need E=NG XII by January.

Really though...lets all be honest.

What they need is Toby Reider to score 12 goals.

I ran into him the other day and he asked me what I wanted and I told him it was for him not to score 12 goals for the Oilers. And also fries with my meal.

So to recap:

Edmonton Oilers: 30/32
Bakersfield Condors: 29/32
Edmonton Oil Kings: 22/22
Edmonton Elks: 9/9

There are potentially 91 teams that Edmonton teams could be better than.
They are better than 5.

Of the 91 teams in biggest leagues that Edmonton teams play in, there are only 5 that could not say "Well, at least we aren't Edmonton".
But to be honest, I think those 5 teams probably would say that anyway.
This is outstanding BBS! Just spectacular! Would you mind if I plagiarize this for use elsewhere?

If that Flames Canucks series taught me anything, it's Eddie's dad's opinion is more important.
