VLC player is awesome! Glad I got it before they took it off the app store.

When it's installed on both phones you need to send a request (makes sense) and then the other person has to accept your request. Then the info it sends back says it is accurate within 2447 metres.
So was it accurate or not? Did you verify that the other person was within 2.447 km?

I know you were trying to be funny- but the two iPhones were less than a metre apart.

Part of the problem was it took the initial GPS reading. You know when you go to Google Maps and it tells you that you are in a different location, then over 10-20 seconds it gets more accurate? Well it was like it didn't wait.

fonehome and locator both use google latitude to do it, both only a few bucks, one is 2 the other is 5.

fonehome seems to work better i find, but haven't tested too extensively... pinpoints about as well as the map app does anyways.

Got a brand new iPod Touch 64G. I sifted through 69 pages of this thread for app ideas.

Well done...keep up the good work guys.

Hey, anyone know of a decent app to keep practice plans on? As a coach it would be handy, I've been looking but didn't see anything.

If you don't go to the states and want to save $10 you can get TomTom Canada/Alaska for $40. I've been debating picking it up since it came out and finally picked it up this morning. Overall I'm very impressed. It doesn't have that "jumpy" feeling of the maps app. The voice directions are very clear and the layout is extremely easy to get a feel for. Added bonus that the Canada/alaska only takes up about 350 mb.

Sorry for my laziness, but what is the app where you look through the camera and it basically overlays things like restaurants, gas stations, etc.? I remember someone showing me on their 3gs but I can't remember what it was.

Theres a few apps out there that do this (Augmented Reality). I know Yelp does it, as do a couple others.

That would be horrible. Your data limit would be exceeded in less than a day.

Someone should make a CP app. Avsforum has a really good app model that CP could follow.
