Heat are in the driver's seat for the playoffs. With the points earned tonight, the Heat just need to earn as many points or more points than Bakersfield does in the 5 remaining games to make the playoffs. Stockton does have a margin of error of 1 point.

Bakersfield has the advantage in the schedule facing the Pacific division's worst team twice, while the Heat have to face the Pacific division's best team twice.
I think with this blue line (Kulak-Kylington / Wotherspoon-Kostka / Aulie-Ollas-Mattsson) the Heat can beat anybody in the AHL. Still a young team but they don't have guys way in over their head like Morrisson, Doetzal, and Kanzig.

Bakersfield plays 4 of their 5 on the road while Stockton plays 4 of their 5 games at home. Bakersfield travels to Stockton to play the Heat on April 14 which could decide who moves on to the playoffs.

How awesome is it to have a 6'4 200+ pound 22 year old center center that plays a solid two-way game knocking at the door? 27 goals, 53 points and an impressive +17. Hope he gets a long look in camp next year.
I think Flames management expects Jankowski to push hard for a spot on the team next year so I have no doubt in my mind they will give him a long look and afford him every opportunity to make it.
Magic number for Heat to clinch playoffs is 7 points. Every point that Stockton earns or Bakersfield fails to earn reduces the magic number by 1. When/if it hits zero, Stockton will have clinched.
