Absolutely massive russian terrorist attack last night in Kharkiv region with dozens dead in a supermarket. Disguting ####bags. Russians on telegram absolutely LOVING it right now, calling it their biggest success in months. Congrats I guess. Losers.

The United Nations is sending an investigation team to Hroza. Hopefully this most recent act of state sponsored terrorism and genocide opens the eyes of other countries around the world that are not ready to hold Russia accountable.
Also, Russia is retreating their Black Sea fleet from Crimea. Hopefully this helps make their blockade or other Ukrainian ports less effective.

Have to wonder if the action against Israel has Putin's support and blessing, hoping it will take the American eye off the Ukraine ball. Seems Putin's sycophants in Washington are doing his bidding. Josh Hawley has suggested all Ukraine funding be immediately transferred to support Israel. This was predictable and probably something that Putin was aware could be a wedge.

It is 100% that, and not only with Putin's blessing, he was the driver along with the intel Trump provided during his reign.

100% that was part of the plan and russia has a role in the recent Hamas attacks, whether it be by funding, blessings, supports whatever we want to call it. 100%.
Also the Finns saying a recent pipeline sabotage has russian finger prints all over it. Where have we seen this before? Hmmmm. Can't wait for when people start blaming Ukrainian or Polish sailors again.

That's wild. Not sure what happened today to cause that much destruction. But that's a crazy number. It's also f'ing gross how much equipment russia has. Just nasty a stockpile like that exists.

They were trying to take Avdiivka into a pocket. They made some small advances but there was a lot of friendly fire incidents and large force concentrations just waiting for Ukrainian artillery to fire.

“At the end of the Cold War, Russia had nearly 60,000 tanks in its fleet. The majority of these were in Eastern Europe and the Western military districts. The Warsaw Pact countries possessed nearly 20,000 more. On the other side of the line that divided Europe down the middle, NATO possessed some 30,000 tanks, although a substantial fraction of these were deployed in Southern Europe and Turkey.” https://www.lexingtoninstitute.org/t...mories-europe/
“The U.S. estimate of Soviet tanks at a little over 50,000 was also incorrect; in fact, the Soviets possessed 64,000 (other sources put the number as high as 68,000). “
I believe Russia had to cut up a bunch of tanks after the Cold War, but still have huge stockpiles. Hopefully the older tanks are not worth bringing back into service.
Russia trying to mount an offensive in Avdiivka with some of their best equipment half assed while Ukraine's counter offensive is ongoing is absolutely has to be at the top of the dumbest things Russia has done so far...and that is saying something as we've had Bakhmut and other situations.
Bakhmut was mostly sending prisoners and 'unwanted' in a meat grinder to wear down Ukraine. This they sent their best tanks in a massive attack right into Ukraine artillery range that Ukraine knew was coming.
Unless there is some big secret plan for the EU to take over Ukraine funding and the US to focus solely on Israel, I can't imagine any scenario where the US just stops aid to Ukraine in the midst of their war. Given how this is pretty much the best bang-for-buck scenario they will EVER have in finally taking down russia without any dead Americans, it makes no sense whatsoever to leave in the middle of it. Kicking the can down the road does nothing, when that price of containment will increase tenfold if russia wins. I get that there are some dumbass politicians in that country, but I think most realize it makes no sense to abandon Ukraine.
Quote:
The National Security Council coordinator also said the House Speaker position was critical in terms of bringing legislation to the floor and moving things forward.
“So the sooner that there’s a Speaker of the House, obviously, the more comfortable we’ll all be in terms of being able to support Israel and Ukraine,” he said.
According to that article, it comes down to have a house speaker selected. So I don't think it's as big an issue as it's made out to be. Aid isn't going to stop anytime soon. Russia isn't going to be allowed to win. Makes no sense to take the boil-the-frog approach, only to save the frog at the end.
