I agree, those are pretty modest wages in comparison to other PL players.

think it's modest in terms of big players but not in general

Outside of Chelsea, Man United, Man City my guess is the next few big clubs only have a few players each at 100k or higher

According to Gianluca di Marzio, United are also in negotiations with Atleticos sporting director Andrea Berta.

Quote:
While the biggest milestones in his career have taken place in Spain, Berta could be leaving Madrid for England, where he could partner with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United. The Red Devils have identified Mourinho as their top choice, there isn't much room for discussions or alternatives, the negotiation has been on going for some time. The plan seems to be set, the signature is expected to be for next season, as the former Chelsea manager doesn't want to start right away. Berta has a good relationship with Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes, the possibility that he will join Manchester United is concrete- he will give his answer in the next few weeks. Manchester United is looking to get back on track, Mourinho and Berta could be the central figures in their new project.

in contrast to the Mourinho rumours, I like this a lot. It's about time United got a sporting director and even if Berta says no, at least this shows that United are finally looking for one.

6 months, that must have been brutal. Was it a bad tackle or what?

Looked like he was jumping up for a header, mistimed it, and landed very ugly with his knee bent the wrong way

At least now they can concentrate on....the Europa League?

in the League Cup they had to play 120 plus penalties twice, and in the FA Cup they had to play extra matches twice as well, including one over 120. Far from ideal, especially for a fragile squad like Liverpool.

I'm surprised.

Adam Johnson has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of grooming.

Johnson, 28, continues to deny two charges of sexual activity with a girl aged under 16, having previously pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child under 16 and another of grooming.

And he plead guilty and Sunderland just terminated his contract.

I'll give the English credit, I had no idea this was even going on.

I'm totally stunned, I really liked Adam Johnson, at one point I wanted Liverpool to pick him up.

And theres a joke I'd love to make but its just in terrible taste so I'll save that one.

Fine. But its on your head.

"I wanted Liverpool to sign Adam Johnson but we're too old for him."

So you didn't hear the song Liverpool supporters sung about him last season?
