I think he means 2 players, Duchene and Landeskog.

He did - spell check got him. But the cap doesn't work even with Brouwer.

I thought my post was clear that package is for both Duchene and Landeskog. Deal will never happen but what a stacked lineup we would have.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Landeskog
Bennett-Duchene-Ferland
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Bouma-Stajan-Hathaway

Just for a laugh
Brouwer (cap reasons)
Jankowski
Klimchuk
Kylington
Andersen
Gillies/Parsons
2 1st round picks
Basically a forward prospect, D prospect, and first for both, toss in a veteran contract and a goalie prospect. Still don't think the cap would work though and the Avs would certainly demand Brodie or Hamilton in return.
|
That's way too much. The last legit centre who was not a UFA and was still young was Ryjo, and before that was Jeff Carter. Neither of those guys commanded outrageous prices.
Edit: I see, it was for both Landy and Duch

That was the proposal for Duchene AND Landeskog
EDIT: or what the last five posts said.

Huh? Am I not reading properly, or does that make no sense?
Also, we're trading 2 former 1st rounders, 2 former 2nd rounders, one promising goalie prospect, and two 1st round picks for Duschene?
That's literally insane.

The package is for 2 players. 24 year old 4x 20 goal scoring Landeskog and 26 year old former 30 goal scorer in Duchene

You wrote "La" rather than Landeskog, so you can see where people were confused.

Horrible autocorrect and lack of spell check. My bad
Duchene + Landeskog
Rumor was started by a radio host in Montreal and got picked up by the hockeyfeed page on FB

I think an autocorrect basically removed Landeskog from his trade proposal. Still terrible and we would in no way be cap compliant. Also, as others have said Gabriel would be arguably our 3rd line LW

You have to admit, it would be pretty funny if the Pens don't trade MAF and the SCF goes past June 17th. That is the date the lists are due for expansion, it also means the buyout window would not be open yet.

Hardly something to be bitter about.

Yet the Blues a team that is arguably better than us, calls him up and puts him directly into a top 6 role. They should have consulted you on because they haven't gotten that memo.

I'm with you here, maybe not for the same reasons but I think he should be dealt too. I think it's time to move Bennett to the wing and give Jankowski a shot. Moving Versteeg would make room for that, but I wouldn't do it until the deadline and for no less than a 3rd if we are still in the playoff picture. I just think we need to make room for next year.

Why do people constantly add an "s" to Duchene?

I don't think the Cup final will go that late. I assume the NHL has made sure the season will end prior to any expansion draft deadline.

Insider trading:

unless it is a can't miss, over the top, opportunity, Julien likely waits a while before he takes another job
Hitchcock more focused on health and wellness right now
He might be open to a long term position if he feels he can work with the GM
Chayka was at a Blackhawks game probably looking at some of their young forwards (in exchange for the rentals the Coyotes have)
Bowman says he doesn't think he will be a player at the deadline and LeBrun is inclined to believe him this time because of all the picks he has traded away in past years
Canucks on a make it or break it road trip and if things go south, they will likely be sellers before the deadline
While Benning said he wouldn't ask players like Burrows or Miller to waive NTC's, if there is interest he might go to those players and explain the situation to them and ask if they are interested.
Jets looking for depth on his blueline to help offset the loss of Myers to injury
Sens did check-in on Landeskog or Duchene, but with the high prices something dramatically has to change for them to land one of those players

If the Pens won the cup I can't imagine they would care too much
