With all due respect the Flames lost to the Hawks and Sharks with Tanev im the lineup too. They aren't a team that can half ass and get away with it.

I assume the Flames wanted 2 years and he was looking for 3. That's pretty much been the speculation all along.
I don't blame them. 3 is hard to justify at his age and with his type of game.

Flames should have sat Tanev a couple games just to show how bad they are defensively and how many warts he covers up. Probably would have upped it to a 1st

Also heard he said he wanted a shot to win and the Flames said they would try to honour that.
