Edmonton will lose one of the first two at home. LA will will win both at home to make it 3-1 LA. Edmonton will win game 5 at home and then LA wins it at home in 6.

Mcdavid is going to play 30 minutes a night and win 2 rounds for the oilers before he burns out. They’re losing in game 5 of the WCF.
I’m not watching until then.

Caught parts of 3/4 of those games.
Not the most inspiring efforts in any of them. Oilers got PP help in all of them which played into the results.
LA can put way better games together like they did in the first 3/4 of the year and the Coil got a lot of fortune as LA were peppering Skinner but bounces didn't go their way. Games were close.
LA had their top scorer out. Colorado had top players out.
If that's Edmonton at their best, I don't think they stomp anybody.

I'm mostly just sad we're, yet again, forced to cheer for a team to lose rather than riding a wagon to the finals.
I've been feeling this is Edmonton's best chance at making a legit run since around December. Are they a contender? Maybe not in the traditional sense, but when you look at them from an unbiased perspective, I don't see how they aren't a favorite to come out of the west. They made the best acquisitions at the deadline than I can remember. Everyone praises Ekholm, but Bjugstad was just as good for depth. If Skinner can maintain the pace he's been on, all they have to do is draw penalties and cash in.
That being said, LA won't be a pushover and is built better for the post season. My gut feeling is that McDavid, Draisaitl, and the Oiler PP will be the storyline for the next few weeks.
I know the schtick around here is to ignore any sort of success they have due to winning all the lotteries. Maybe the dread I've felt ever since they won McDavid is just that much more apparent. I hate it.

As I recalled, before the playoff started the year before last, all of their fans were so happy that they got to face the Jets. And chirping that they OWNED the Jets and it's gonna be a short series. Lo and behold, they were right, it was a short series, cos they got SWEPT!
History has a tendency of repeating itself.

This has been the storyline for the last 8 years, and they haven't done much with it. The Oilers are built for the regular season, not the playoffs. The only way they're getting anywhere near the Cup is if the officials continue to gift-wrap timely PPs for them. It's the only way they know how to win.

The Oiler overhyping has spread to Flames fans. Jesus, let me off this rock.

Or Drai would have 90 points without McDavid

Hate to say it, but I think it's a repeat of last year. Oil in 7. But they won't make it past round 2.
