I think the youth on this team can't help but get excited for a chance at playoffs and playing the cup. They will definitely be up for this one.
Only thing we need is Hiller to stop letting in that patented early softie and hopefully the Flames can come out more organized than they have recently.

What does LA losing tonight really do? Even if they win, we can still clinch Thursday against them. It would only really hurt them in the wild card no?

Sure, but what if we don't win Thursday? LA failing to pick up 2 points is still huge.

We are in a tight playoff race with 3 games left, tied for points with LA, and you're asking what an LA loss does?

The risk, obviously, is hearing or seeing the score prematurely and ruining my tape-delayed excitement.
Option 2: Try my best to follow live with the technology available to me, while being a neglectful father and also missing portions of the game, particularly towards the end.
Although this sounds like a problem, I'm just thrilled that it is April and the games are important enough to put me in such a predicament.

It's incredibly difficult in this day and age to stay away from the live scores. Even if you put yourself under a social media embargo, there is always an inner urge to check in and see what the score is. I would become an anxious wreck not knowing, or just having that feeling that either they've won and are still primed for the playoffs, or lost and you're one of a few people that don't know.
Good luck if you go with Option 1!

It's never hard to avoid the scores here in south Florida. The one perk of being in a completely non-hockey market.

To answer the question, if the Flames win today, the Flames can clinch a playoff spot with a REGULATION win vs the kings.
On top of that, If the Kings happen to lose today, either in regulation or OT, ANY Flames win vs the Kings clinches a playoff spot on Thursday.
