It's natural for everyone to judge a trade immediately. It's even fine. But quite a few deals have no "winner" or "loser" for quite some time. Part of fandom.

Decent return. Artem Grushnikov is going to be a solid shutdown D man, a couple of picks including another 2nd. I am sure Conroy would have loved to drag it out longer but if he gets hurt it was game over.

Don’t love Grushnikov with Kuznetsov and Solovyov already in the system. Would have preferred someone with more two way ability. Not a bad return, but not the home run we as fans hope for.

The only thing worse than Kyrou being the prospect is getting Grushnikov lol.
Nothing flashy about his game, I think he was 5th or 6th on their prospect ranking which is puzzling value wise.

If this is the best that was out there after all the speculation about a bidding war I’m concerned.

I feel like retaining for rentals with 6 weeks left in the season doesn't really add that much value to the trade. I am glad they did retain, but it's more so to facilitate the trade than to generate value in this case.

NJD reserve list guy Cole Brady is part of the deal. They're getting back a 4th round pick.
