I think we know why they held this season back instead of airing it during the strike

Well, another episode of the Ricky & Cesar show has come and gone. Kinda boring with them so clearly in the lead.

Beautiful locations, though! That first challenge looked fun!

Rod may have had more success 'throwing to first' if he wasn't trying to throw it THROUGH the baseman.

I'm wondering if Amber & Vinny are still together? This show sure is exposing their relationship.

Hopefully this all leads up to an upset in the finale. I have nothing against R+C (they're my pick!), but it's sooooo boring how easy they've had it so far. The only way they'll lose is if they make a mistake or if a driver makes an error. I do hope the final leg is in an English first country as yet again they had an advantage in the Dominican.

That being said they obviously deserve to win beyond the advantage. They plan out and execute all of their challenges with ease. Although with the covid restrictions in place it's easier to hold a lead. There hasn't been much change at the top of the order for much of the season. The challenges haven't been difficult, and it's difficult to make up ground on the frontrunners.

Definitely a ho hum season as others have said, maybe the last couple episodes can redeem it.

"As a kid, I hit a lot of piñatas."

This week, the teams travelled to the Dominican Republic. It looked like a pretty close leg (except for Ricky & César running away with it again) and Amber & Vinny were still on the mat when Yvonne & Melissa arrived.

Nice little update tag showing the Yvonne & Melissa had a baby since the race was recorded.
  1. Ricky & César (win trip to Seoul)
  2. Rod & Leticia
  3. Juan & Shane
  4. Amber & Vinny
  5. Yvonne & Melissa
  6. Angie & Danny
  7. Sunny & Bizzy
  8. Derek & Shelisa
  9. Kishori & Karishma
  10. Michelle & Sean
  11. Anthony & Bailey
  12. Chris & Mary
  13. Maya & Rohan
  • EldrickOnIce: Juan & Shane / Chris & Mary
  • Yeah_Baby: Sunny & Bizzy / Derek & Shelisa
  • getbak: Anthony & Bailey / Kishori & Karishma
  • Superflyer: Rod & Leticia / Maya & Rohan
  • trackercowe: Ricky & Cesar / Angie & Danny

  • Amethyst: Maya & Rohan / Michelle & Sean
  • csnarpy: Chris & Mary / Amber & Vinny

Next week: A double leg episode for the season finale. The first leg continues in the DR, then they fly to Philly for the final leg, where they get to live the dream of meeting Gritty.

Also, a programming note: If you usually watch this on CTV (or have a recording set up on CTV), it looks like next week's episode is getting bumped to Friday on CTV, so you might want to plan to watch the CBS airing on Wednesday.

Also, last week, CBS announced next season's schedule and TAR will not be airing the in fall.

They are launching a new show in the post-Survivor time slot called The Summit. It sounds like a mix of Survivor and TAR, where a group of 14 people have two weeks to try to climb a mountain (it's based on an Australian show, which was shot in New Zealand -- I believe the US version will be shot in the same location). Each player has a share of the $1 million dollar prize pool, so every one who drops out or gets eliminated by another climber reduces the total pool. All the climbers who make it to the summit, split what's remaining of the prize pool (the eliminated climbers choose how the prize money will be split between the winners).

TAR will be returning next winter (probably with a similar schedule to this race). It will again air after Survivor and have 90 minute long episodes.

TAR Canada is currently shooting this year's season. It should return for its usual July-September run.

Is The Summit any good? I saw it heavily promoted while watching Australian Survivor.

There is an Australian version out right now and it was ok. Not sure how the US version will fare, but it looks very similar to the Ozzies. We enjoyed the series until the end, which kind of sucked.

Here is the Oz version

back to the Race, was hilarious watching Rod bomb that ball to first base. For a pro athlete that was pretty bad LOL. Leticia sure likes to dig at that.
Ricky & César are simply an amazing team.

The versatility of Ricky and Cesar is truly amazing.
It does not seem to matter whatever the challenge, they have been there and done that and excel.
Will be interesting over the final leg(s) with Rod and Leticia. If I heard correctly, and I assume they have to be somewhat even, baseball was the last roadblock Rod can do. She's an excellent athlete/participant in her own right but this may hurt them in the end.

I can't imagine what will stop Ricky and Cesar. I expect nothing will

I cringed so hard at the start of the episode where he was like "I should listen more?" and then Amber lays out this extensive list of what does and doesn't need to do for Vinny.

Babe, Sweetie, leave him.

"Bro, we're in New Jersey."
"Oh, don't tell me that."

First leg... Four teams continue racing in the Dominican Republic. Ricky & César finally struggle with a task, but they're able to stay alive. Amber & Vinny get eliminated... and engaged (oh goody).
  1. Rod & Leticia (win trip to Rome)
  2. Juan & Shane
  3. Ricky & César
  4. Amber & Vinny
  5. Yvonne & Melissa
  6. Angie & Danny
  7. Sunny & Bizzy
  8. Derek & Shelisa
  9. Kishori & Karishma
  10. Michelle & Sean
  11. Anthony & Bailey
  12. Chris & Mary
  13. Maya & Rohan

Final leg... The final three teams race to Philadelphia, where they meet Gritty and Ben Franklin.
  1. Ricky & César (Win $1,000,000): trackercowe & surferguy
  2. Juan & Shane: EldrickOnIce & Cheese
  3. Rod & Leticia: Superflyer & Hockey

This was one of the most-dominant performances in Amazing Race history. Ricky & César cruised to the million dollars with hardly any struggles through the entire race.

Thanks getback for running this!!

The first leg was a little rough for Ricky & César, but once the final leg started they were not going to be denied. Probably the best team Ive seen in the Race. Would be interesting to see them race against other winners.
Not sure how far ahead they were at the end, but it must have been at least an hour, maybe more.
Well done!

Dominant victory. Cesar and Ricky really deserved the win.
Of course the pilots got lost. Lol
Loved Rod and Leticia

I'll be watching for the Canadian version draft this summer. Don't leave me out of it!

The teams for the Canadian version are usually officially announced in mid-June and the race premieres in early July.

I'll fire up the thread/pool for it once the teams are announced.

Not a bad finale, in all. I liked the various challenges.

I was a bit surprised to see Ricky and Cesar struggle with something.

Then of course it turns out that English is the second language of one of them...and the other grew up in Philly. Of course.

Fun stuff overall. I like how Rod and Leticia are with each other. Especially contrasted to Amber and Vinny

Thanks for running this, getbak!

Agree on all counts. Overall was fun, but not fabulous.

And I think Rod and Leticia are my all-time favorite AR team.

I found the actual race to be among my least favourite seasons, but a few of the teams were among my favourites.

At some point all you could do was laugh at the sheer dominance of Ricky and Cesar.

"English is not my first language, so this is really hard"

*recites Declaration of Independence on second try*

*Rod approaches the challenge*
