Flames got lucky there, for sure ...it was strange how most in here were ranking Benett higher, but he was left til #4...same goes for Carolina passing on Monahan...the Hockey Gods have smiled down onto the Flames!!

Now has more points than Jack Eichel after tonight's game.
Jack Eichel looks amazing too, though ... At least in the couple BUF games I've watched... He looks better than Bennett even...and that's NO slight on Bennett intended

Eichel's been snakebitten on assists, his teammates have stonehands to the maximum including Evander Kane. If only he had a Benoit Pouliot (4th OA pick) and a Nail Yakupov (1st OA pick) on his wings...

I have to admit, I never thought Bennett had it in him to pull off that kind of move. He seemed to be progressing as a great energy player but lately he's showing all types of skill.
You should check out some of his Kingston highlights. He had some unbelievable end to end goals like that. Of course it's more impressive to do it at this level, but he's always had those moves / drive / ability.
This kid is going to be a huge piece going forward. Gaudreau will be the offensive engine with Monahan while Bennett drives the offence on his line. Hope he has shift road trip along with the rest of the team and comes back leading rookies in scoring.

Oh yeah, I've seen his Kingston stuff but that's junior. Doing it at the NHL level is another thing which a lot of players can't replicate.

Pretty sure Bennett should be 26 GP / 6 G / 8 A

How's Ekblad doing this year? I haven't really heard much about him, but I don't know if that's because he's struggling or if it's just because he's in Florida.

I only watched one florida game this year and he didn't stand out but wasn't bad either, he's currently 5th in ice time though just behind Kulikov.
Well his point production is well down. He had 9 points in his first 14 games last season, only has 3 this time.
Hopefully he isn't due a breakout against us on Tuesday. Be interesting to see Bennett and Ekblad go head to head in that game, the 2 best players in the 2014 draft. Should be a good one.
