“@SportsnetTicker: #Flames will have the smallest opening-night roster in the NHL at an average of 196.3 pounds per player.”

Watching Vancouver Hockey Lunch on TSN and they say Shorthouse is working the game, so at least for the Vancouver feed we'll be getting the Canucks broadcast team and not a national team.
Im expecting a rough game. I can see the canucks going after Johny early to throw him off his game in which the 4th line might see more time than expected.
I like Stajan on that line as it adds some skill - Mcgrattan and Bollig are great energy guys and can pin you in your own zone. Having a guy like Stajan to feed the puck too is a great call.
I honestly hope they try it.
Johnny can take care of himself, but Big 'Ern would pummel someone's face into pulp and really set the tone for the season.
If Desjardins has any sense he will make sure his players dont start taking runs at anyone. The Canucks are expected to make the playoffs and the Flames are likely going to be potential points for them. They should stick to the game and not try and goon it up against the Flames.

I don't mind Shortie, good guy loves to talk. But man Garrett is the worst. I mean just the worst!
Hoping to make it home in time for this one have to do a bunch of setup for Canucks' home opener and for whatever reason it has to be this afternoon. Punishment for being and awesome Flames fan I guess.
Like most, I do not like the looks of those lines. I highly doubt they stay that way but yeesh they look awful. This is where we miss Granlund, he would be in for sure if not injured right now.

Granlund has been cleared to play, they just sent him to the baby Flames. I'm assuming for some conditioning and getting ng up to game speed after missing most of camp.
I'm more than confident that when he is up to speed, he will be back up with the main team. Nobody outperformed Granlund before or after the injury. Gaudreau and Granlund were tied. At least that's my POV

The more they try to hit Johnny the more they'll be out of position. Only way he gets hit hard is a dirty hit or charging at which point Big Ern hops the boards and beats up 5 Canucks.
