I don't get what kind of point Huska is trying to make regarding Zary. He's had a few not great games (albeit once he got taken off the line he has chemistry with).
It just sends the message that only the overpaid vets get a pass. Huberdeau was floating around for a bunch of games, Lindholm earlier in the year, Duehr is useless every time he plays, Mangiapane has had a bunch of games where he has been going through the motions. Etc.

Basically said there are no "free" games in the NHL. Just because someone is a rookie doesn't mean they should get a pass or what he said again a "free" game. Said to look at a guy like Weegar as an example, as he plays every game like it's his last.
Not a fan of his message considering a guy like Huberdeau had many "free" games for the first half of the season.
Maybe he’s already had a bunch of conversations with Zary with zero results and calling him out was the last resort.
If you watch the frame by frame both feet are on the group, elbow tucked when he went in and no charge. Morrissey put himself in a vulnerable spot last second.
It doesn't matter. This is the Department Of Safety we are talking about here and he just recently got a suspension. They are 100% going to give him a suspension.

Ya, that sends a great message to a young player. Hey kid, you had a bad game, you are going to miss out on valuable development time while some of these vets get a pass for screwing the pooch. Just like playing AJ Greer and Hunt over Coronato, Huska doing Huska things.
You don't bench for having a bad game. You bench for either not following coaching instructions or to have a look at the game from above. It works with young kids. All you do with benching vets is piss them off or give their confidence a hit.
Some issues you play through. Some you need a break or a different look.

Well part of it was my opinion given the league history and part of it was Button who is well connected with the league saying Pospisil was 100% getting suspended. You are right, I should know better than to believe anything that comes out of Button's mouth.

It sure is tiresome hearing how every player that plays the game hard needs to be tamed. Why does everything have to be softened until its margarine on the counter?
