I just took a quick peak at the draw, if Mackenzie MacDonald wins his match and Vasek can knock off Gilles Simon of France, MM and Vasek would meet in the next round.
His match is the night match on the Grandstand (7pm ET). That crowd will be something. Vasek and Milos probably play tomorrow.

I'm happy as a clam. It's going to be the first Grand Slam I've ever attended. I'm a giddy teenager right now.
The US Open is a really cool experience, went in 2011. My favourite venue is Grandstand, it's first come, first serve seating, so if you get to the gates early and are willing to run a bit, you can get front row behind the baseline pretty easily. If you're going in the early days of the tournament you can catch some really great players.
Here's some pictures I took from the front row of Grandstand:
Spoiler!
Del Potro
Schiavone
Petkovic
Some other things that might help:
- It can get really hot if you're not under any shade, lighter colour clothing can make a big difference here.
- Buy a large bottle of water at the beginning of the day, then fill it using the water fountains around the grounds and arenas.
- It's really easy to move between Grandstand and Louis Armstrong (which also has a general seating area).
- It's hit and miss, but if you have cheap seats in Arthur Ashe, you might be able to move down to better seats, especially on the weekday matches early in the tournament.
- There's Free Wi-Fi, but it's spotty, useful for keeping track of other matches
- Pickup the free play-by-play radio available to Amex card holders
- Checkout the different booths and other fan stuff, really adds to the experience. Lots of swag to be had.

Very helpful. Thanks so much!
It's cool to hear that Flushing Meadows is a total experience and not just the matches (not that I would complain either way).
Pospisil has a tough draw in the first round against former world number 6 Gilles Simon tomorrow. He's looking pretty good this year, been to the 4th round in two slams and at the 5 masters has only got knocked out before the 3rd round once.
Hopefully Vasek can pull off another big upset... if he can beat Simon and take the qualifier in round 2 that will bring him past 1100 points and give him a very good chance at a seed at the US Open. Depending on who else wins would end up ranked around #36. I dunno who if anybody is injured but Cilic is probably going to be suspended and the top 32 players get seeds. Big ask though.
Milos should beat Sock but I don't feel real certain. Hopefully I'm wrong, he's got a fair few points to defend.
Speaking of Jack Sock. Here is a video I took following a practice session with Jack Sock and Greigor Dimitrov. They are playing a tennis, soccer, volleyball hybrid game.
It is unbelievable the athleticism these guys have. I would say Tennis players are probably the overall most athletic professional athetes there are. The upperbody coordination combined with the needed footwork, its incredible.

Murray at practice. with Lendl's drills, he went way harder than anyone else...then again he could afford to since he crashed out so early. still, easy to see why he's arguably the fastest and fittest player on tour.
Raonic and Pospisil in action
a chilly handshake between hopefully big future rivals
Rafa before the semi. somebody better call a vet, because those pythons are sick
Nole prepping for the same match. his body language wasn't good at this practice, and it carried through into much of the match
Andy and no-name #1 finish kicking the living crap out of Nestor and no-name #2
Nole vs Rafa, XXXVI
more nekkid pics for you ladies out there
