Apparently the current leader is a huge fan of the sport and money is no object. That offer is in the article as well, but doesn't have him as highest paid, still being 2nd (if they did the deal). There is something amusing in that Chelsea of all clubs is complaining that Chinese money is ruining things. That said though, it could be a big problem going forward for the league in general.

I've never watched a Chinese League game but have watched Chinese teams in the Asian Champions League. Does that count? :P

If China could actually put all of the teams in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Macau, they might actually be a legit threat. I just don't think there's much interest playing in middle of nowhere China like there would be playing for Stoke for instance. But guys getting to double or triple their wages....hard to turn down.

Of course it counts. Still have no idea where the popularity is with the league though, I mean you'd figure there'd be someway to watch in North America besides streams. If they can spring £30 million for Diego Costa, they should be able to get on BEin or something.

Andy Carroll just scored a spectacular bicycle kick! Whoa!
2-0 West Ham. So far, so good.

No network would go near that league. Eyeballs and advertising dollars is where it's at. Games would be at 4am.

Carroll's goal. Gonna be tough to crack the top 3 goals this year with Mkhitaryan, Giroud and Carroll pretty much locked in.

That Carroll goal is incredible. The kind of quality you expect from a 35 mil player!

You don't see them hit that hard very often. That was real nice.

Leicester are a train wreck right now. Guess it kinda shows how every single thing had to come together for them last year, and it did. Oh and Kante I guess was that important.

And a few other teams wanted them to win as opposed to their rivals, which certainly didn't hurt.

Elaborate please.
You suggesting that teams played them differently than your Spurs?

I don't think that much elaboration is needed. Have a look at Chelsea and their comments in the media leading up to the game.

No Clyne, Matip, or Mane today. Coutinho on the bench. Gonna be a tough go today for Liverpool.
The Matip situation is BS. He's not being allowed to play due to a lack of clarity of whether he's obligated to be at AFCON, despite already having retired from international football.
