And they always tell the same tired dad joke: "What's the difference between the Flames and a bra?" Hehehe...yes good one..probably got told that same joke about 750 times during my 8 years there, by young and old alike. That and "Flamers" is pretty much all the "wittiness" they got. And the latter doesn't really fly anymore in 2016.
I've always referred to Lottery Draft Day as the official start of Oiler season, as that's when they first get hope again and start getting cocky and lippy again.

OK. I am genuinely curious. What is the difference between the Flames and a bra? Fortunately I don't have to mingle much with Edmontonians and I am not certain I have ever heard that one.

So I was talking with two of my friends today (both oiler fans, unfortunately). Both claimed that it's "Cup or bust" in Edmonton this year. I couldn't believe they could make such a claim with a straight face!

For the Oilers it's 29th and 30th to cup contender, there is no in between. They're an exception to the rules when it comes to rebuilds, don't you know? Why, you ask? Because they are Edmonton and they have McDavid. And that's all the reasoning you need.
Larsson, Russell and Lucic were truthfully the only pieces holding them back all along.
