I am not allowing my kids to go to university. Those places are beyond hope.

It's becoming difficult to know what is satire these days when it comes to post-secondary institutions.

It's really not all that bad except for the Nu-speak slogans.
In the old days, it would have been called "having good manners."

Yeah it's weird that people can't see that so-called "PC culture" is basically just today's version of "don't be a dick."

If it's common sense, why does it have it have to be publicly posted as a list of imperatives? And why only at universities?
Most of the ten commandments are pretty common-sense 'don't be a dick' stuff. Still, I would find it concerning if they were posted in the common area of every university.

Because we clearly had decades and centuries of people for whom it apparently wasn't common sense that you should also not be dicks to women, gays, and minorities.

It's even weirder that asking an Asian person where they are from will potentially 'microinvalidate' them. I mean only a total dick would ask a question like that. Amiright?

Well I mean kind of. There's enough multi-generational Asian families on this continent that to assume a person who looks Asian isn't Canadian is directly acknowledging that they don't "look Canadian," is it not?
EDIT: It might not be your intent but it still has that connotation.

It's not always common sense though. We're talking about teenagers/very young adults here. They can be #######s. I know I was. Still am, but I just became stealthier about it as I 'matured'.
Common sense also tells me this will be scoffed at and mocked by the very people it's aimed at. Common sense also tells me these signs are really kind of silly, but I get where they are coming from. They need to ease up on the cornball terminology at the very least.
Some people are always going to be dicks and you just have to deal with it, but I don't have a fundamental problem with spelling out how to not be a dick in the hopes of bringing down the level of dickishness in your dormitory.

It would be more effective for those it's aimed at if it was more blunt. PC culture, or whatever, fails in that it's delivery is too PC. It's not politically incorrect to call a dick a dick.
"Some people are different than you. Don't be a dick."

Thank you for not avoiding me, as per Rutgers that would have been a micro aggression.
However, I must comment on your avatar. It is a clear micro aggression towards vegans and animal rights activists as the gloves are constructed from bovine hide. You monster.

A couple of weeks ago I asked a Russian guy with a thick Russian accent where he was from and his response was (not surprisingly) "Russia". Would you consider this a 'microinvalidatation'? Cuz he sure didn't sound Canadian.

Actually the heavily pixelated M-14 rifle in your signature is macroaggressive. You are the real monster my friend. (sorry, calling you a monster is microaggressive. I take that back - I am truly a monster!)
