Wow. I wonder if they will have someone in place for the friendly against Holland on the 29th.

I dont think Steve McLaren is up to much these days. Maybe Sven is available?
Call up Darius Vassell!
Rofl! Wikipedia is already reporting Ian Holloway as manager from 2012-

They'll probably just let Stuart Pierce deal with it.

It was a big slap to Capello's face that he wasn't consulted in the FA's decision to strip Terry of captaincy. He obviously believes Terry was the best captain on the team. You should trust your manager to make these decisions.
This all going down right before Euro's is crazy.

No way. I think my favourite has to be in Euro 2004, England facing elimination in the shootout and who steps up? Darius Vassell!
I dont even remember who the manager was at the time, probably Sven.
My British buddy and his dad were freaking out, "Darius ####ing WHO??"

Interestingly, right at this moment, Radio 5 Live Sports Extra (a supplemental channel to Radio 5 Live) is currently playing the Middleborough vs. Sunderland match through TuneIn Radio on my iPhone, and the web site player for the same channel is giving the "blocked due to rights restrictions". Very strange. No VPN and both my computer and iPhone are currently connected through the same ISP (Shaw).
Initially, at least, it does appear that somehow the TuneIn app is able to find a stream that isn't geo and/or rights blocked.
To confuse things further, the schedule on both my iPhone and the web site say that it should be a Scottish match, but perhaps 5 Live moved the game over to the 5 Live Sports Extra so the main channel can talk about Capello.
Half time just started, so maybe someone else can check it out in 15 mins or so...

Capello's biggest mistake was not kicking John Terry off the team for the 2010 World Cup. It's a burden that he couldn't stand anymore.

I believe in the Jays.

Got to give Capello some credit on this one. They really undermined his authority here by telling him he can't select Terry as captain. This isn't really a huge loss since Capello has struggled at the helm, but the FA continue to make themselves a running joke.
They FA will now surely have to select someone who will pretty much agree to do what they say when it comes to the Terry situation. Not the most ideal situation for a potential manger.

Capello's team selection for the 2010 World Cup was nothing short of ######ed, but, to be fair, the team was crap and the players were crap. Rooney wasted the entire tournament not scoring a single goal.

You aren't winning the Euros regardless of who is in charge.

I think the team was distracted.
Either the team had to stick behind him and say the incident was nothin, he was just sexually satisfying a teammates wife. Or kick him off the team.
Taking the armband away but keeping him on the team was counter-productive.

I always figured that being a "Yes man" was one of the main requirements to be an English manager.
Old big head's quote comes to mind.
"I'm sure the England selectors thought if they took me on and gave me the job, I'd want to run the show. They were shrewd - because that's exactly what I would have done."
The smart move IMO would be to try and get O'Neill to take a part-time caretaker manager position till the end of the tournament. A player person.
Good on Capello .... puts the spotlight firmly on the FA for interfering with what basically is a team selection matter.

Good call, similar style to their covers but I don't think they'd have '####' on the cover.

I love so much about what Roy Keane has chosen to be in the last few months
WayneRooney Wayne Rooney
Gutted capello has quit. Good guy and top coach. Got to be english to replace him. Harry redknapp for me.

Roy #Keane on #Rooney backing #Redknapp: "Wayne should keep his nose out of it, he didn't do enough on the pitch when #Capello was manager."
