Huh. Real revelation here folks! It's possible that Kane isn't that good! Can anyone here believe it?

What has become abundantly clear is that the Oilers’ top-six can function very well without Kane, begging the question, do the Oilers even need him on the roster or are they better off moving him and opening up space?

So, evidently, the smart move now is to trade him!
Good luck with that.
Edit. I didn't realize until after posting this that he has a no movement clause. That's even more funny!

He will want to sign with a successful team with a bright future. The oilers fail on both accounts.

I agree. This could be one of the first times he seemed human.
What a stupid ####ing question. Please compare a guy that has been in the league, what 2(?) years with the greatest point producer of all time that plays a completely different game in a different era. Go!
I think to be fair, that was his reaction.
Ooh, getting way to close the the edge of the thread boundaries. Here. Better cleanse.
Me caveman conna. Me gretzky#2 not him. grunt. grunt. gimme an award.
There that's better. E=NG. (But dumb ####ing reporters are dumb too DFR=NG)

Funny thing though - Edmonton journalists have been making stupid statements like that about Conna for years.

Sorry, I know I've been posting lots of articles lately but I couldn't help it with this one from The Hockey Writers looking back on how close we were to having Eichel.
I sure wish things had worked out then. I really think things would be very different. I get it. The Flames made some serious mistakes during that time, but what in the sweet holy hell are these people smoking?

The Oilers have a much stronger roster overall than the Flames do, and that has to do with smarter spending and asset management.

The Hockey News has gone downhill big time over the last decade. The editorial staff there seem to be chugging the Oiler kool-aid like it is going out of style.

Is it even professional writers or is it now just some randoms that can sort of type for cheap?

Thats really the NG part about it. What a goddamned stupid question...how long did that reporter take to delve the depths of his brain to come with that one??
I'd have applauded McDavid if he just 'yoinked' the microphone out of that guy's hand and just started bonking that guy over the head with it like a 3 Stooges skit.
"Hey thats..."
*Bonk*
"Stop that..."
*Bonk*
"It hurts..."
*Bonk*
I can do this all day.

Pigeons in Edmonton all fly upside down because there’s nothing in the entire city worth crapping on

So here we are on Christmas Day, and the Oilers are still 5 points out of a playoff spot.
No good.

And two points behind us, games in hand notwithstanding. It still looks good when you look at the standings.
We are aware of what a ridiculously poor season we are having and, at Christmas, we're still ahead of those twits anointed as cup contenders!

They also have five teams between them and a playoff spot. As difficult as it is to make up 5 points, it is even tougher to do it over nearly half a dozen teams.
