Conroy flexing his GM skills with this trade while also being a good guy to Lindholm… there was a good chance he would not get picked very high in the All Star game draft but now, I imagine Hughes will do the classy thing and pick Lindholm first.
Good on you Conroy. Great trade. Wish you all the best Lindholm… crush the oilers for us. Revenge is a dish that is best served cold.
One of the better win/win trades recently. Kuzmenko is still a decent enough player but has struggled to score this year and really isn't solid defensively but can put up 20-30 goals in a decent situation.
Brzustewicz could be a top 3, offensive puck moving d-man on the right side for the flames in 2-4 years.
Jurmo... long shot but a lot of good tools.
Low 1st round pick and if Lindholm helps the Nucks to a West Final a 4th rounder too.
........
Nucks fill a big question in their top 6 and get someone who flourished under a defensive, work-hard coach.

The Canucks are a legit contender this year so if I was a Canucks fan, I'd be happy with the deal. I think Lindholm, despite his under production so far this season, moves the needle on any team. If the Flames were in the same position, I'd want to go for it this season and wouldn't mind giving up futures.

I notice Jurmo was drafted in 2020. That means the Flames have to sign him before June 1 or he'll become a UFA.
They have until June 1, 2025 to get Brzustewicz signed. As a late 2004 birth, he can play in the AHL next year (same as Honzek and Lipinski, also from last year's draft). I suspect they'll know pretty quickly if he isn't willing to sign and flip him somewhere this summer if they can't get him signed.

After listening to Conny talk to Steinberg about this trade. He's pretty open to dealing that extra 1st for a young player. In the same breath he's told the Amateur scouts to bear down because they going to have extra picks this year. Nice to see he's open minded but he's a draft need so he's just as happy making picks all the live long day.
So what do the Flames need now? Defense and a top 9 center. I can see them using the Vancouver pick to get over the hump to get a guy they've identified (Lundell cough cough).

Canucks have 7 people representing them at the all-star game now =-o
Lindholm being selected this year was kind of a joke. Love the guy, but woof, he's been pretty bad for the Flames this year. I think this trade will do him wonders, though. But All Star......nope, not even close.
