One thing I wish they'd do is bring in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour create a player. The facial part anyway, particularly the one from PGA Tour 07. I mean, as far as face is concerned, I was able to damn near replicate myself perfectly on that game, it was almost a little bit creepy.

Then I made my custom golfer wear a kilt, which I have never done in my life but aspire to one day in my grandmother's family tartan (McMillan).

I think Kesler Dive Mode is an instant hit. Or Kesler Bowling, where you have to roll Ryan Kesler at an oncoming Marian Gaborik.

NHL 13 has completely revamped the skating system so it might take some time to get used to, and it might lose it's appeal. If your son is loving 10, and wants to play WHL teams then maybe NHL 12 would be the better choice as it's built on the same skating engine as 10. And 12 has all of the WHL teams. You can even play a full season as a WHL team. Plus you could probably pick up NHL 12 for under $15

Can somebody tell me where Sven can be found in the newest roster update? He's no longer on Portland, but he's not in Abbotsford or Calgary either.

typical EA glitch ... they updated the CHL rosters, but haven't done the AHL rosters yet, meaning that every guy that transitioned isn't in the game right now, including Sven and Max Reinhart. Was the same thing last year ... we need to wait until they fix the AHL rosters.

I remember seeing somewhere, think it was on twitter it had to do with licensing, and the AHL being different than the NHL.

So I've been pretty busy the last month or so with term papers and finals and I haven't had much time to play games. Wrapped everything up early this week, and after watching some WJHC games today I got the itch to play this game.

After 5 minutes of playing I put it back into its case and returned it to the shelf. I even put a little sticky note on the cover that says "Don't", just in case I happen to forget what this game does to me. What a truly random and frustrating mess. It's basically a flashy representation of rolling dice.

As a side note, I also noticed they haven't fixed that edit lines bug. Much like the league they are trying to simulate, these people shouldn't see a dime because of their ineptitude.

Would be nice if they put Backlund back into the game for online play. for that matter, TKO ist on the team anymore either.

Okay, I can't figure this game out. Bought it around boxing day and been just playing against the AI on Pro level.

My last NHL game was like NHL 2007 before they used the right stick as stick control. Now I feel like I have no idea how to play. I get beat to everything, can't carry the puck, can't score and get scored on continuously.

Any tips for basically a complete newbie?

See that would be awesome, I remember when EA sports released that NFL coaching game where they had boardroom meetings and the such. They really need to release a similar version for the NHL and give you the ability to negotiate a new CBA, you can have Kesler diving in the background as your Bettman Avatar pokes the Fehr Avatar in the chest.

Just for a lark EA sports should release screen shots of NHL 14 that show animated board room negiations and list features like

The new league commissioner mode.

Walk out of meetings with a flick of the right stick.
Call impromtu press conference and use your emotion scale and all new intelligent rant feature to sway the media
Use the line feature to decide which owners you want in the board room and which you want on the conference call
use strategy points to decide whether you order sandwiches or chinese for late night meetings.
